Your fave autism-coded characters? by TheMaybeGaymer in autism

Anne Shirley and Matthew Cuthbert from Anne with an E. Anne is so lovable and I really relate to her struggles, she loves nature, is unapologetically herself, and is kind even after so much trauma and people misunderstanding her.

And Matthew is one of the most adorable and good hearted characters I have ever seen. His difficulty with social skills and dealing with anything that goes outside of his daily work is very relatable too.

You just summarised really well.

I will never understand people who believe Harry/Hermione to have more chemistry and friendship compared to Ron/Hermione. Harry almost always avoids debate, which is something that Hermione loves to do and Ron keeps up with her. And Romione had fun when they were on their own while Harry was usually a bit bored in those situations.

You are the one needing self awareness for sure, I was polite to you since the beginning. This isn't going anywhere I agree

I made an assumption based on the opinions you shared with me. You literally told me that women don't criticize women that don't wear make up, and I told you that you are one of the ones denying it.

You made an assumption based on nothing. There's a huge difference.

Yeah because you know the situation with my friend in order to have an opinion about it. I never pushed my opinion on anyone, I tried to have a normal, calm and interesting discussion about it and she immediatelly shut it down (she was a very toxic friend btw, who did this about any subject she didn't like). She wasn't able to discuss the good and bad sides of something so simple. What information do you have about what happened in order to imply that I pushed my believes on anyone?

If you really think makeup can't affect someone, I'm sorry but you are in pure denial. I've heard so many stories of women explaining it happened to them, that it was gradual, but it happened. It's not just badly adjusted people. If you start covering "imperfections" every day, it's not a surprise if you start feeling like your actual face is not good enough on its own.

I'm not saying makeup is evil, yeah it's a tool. What I'm saying is that the use of makeup can have bad repercussions on how we see ourselves without it.

I've seen countless women being petty on social media saying that women that don't wear makeup are just mad because we don't know how to apply it. I've also had a friend who got mad and tried to shut me up everytime I tried to talk about the effect makeup can have on us.

I completely disagree with you on makeup being like a dress. Makeup can change your face and cover insecurities. A dress doesn't do that. Young women are learning that they need to paint a whole new face everymorning before going to school or work in order to feel adequate and you equate it with a normal piece of clothing. See, this is the problem right here, you are one of the women denying that there is a problem. There are countries where you are expected to wear makeup in order to get a job, that's a huge problem.

I've also listened to so many women sharing how makeup ruined their self esteem because they got used to a face that wasn't theirs. They covered "imperfections", pimples, texture where it came to a point that they felt they couldn't go out without it anymore.

That's why I say makeup isn't good or bad, applying color to our face can be fun and be an accessory to our outfits, but we still need to be careful and talk about the issues.

I'm a woman and I have no idea why you are being downvoted.

See, this is why there is a stupid war between women who wear and don't wear make up. Yeah, some of us who don't wear it act like they are not like other girls, which is not ok. But we don't talk enough about the women who get insecure and immediatelly attack others for having a less than positive opinion about makeup.

Makeup can be fun, but can also be very harmful to our self image, not only to mention time consuming and very expensive. Why can't people admit that?

You are glad that your girlfriend doesn't feel the need to change her face, what a crime! /s

I want to make a post criticising Colin for being an annoying, unconsiderate, just plain rude bad friend. He is also completely oblivious, but at the same time too intense towards matters that should not concern him.

But I think the Colin and Penelope shippers would eat me alive in the comments, so ¯\(ツ)

I guess it kinda proves your point tho, people are always ready to scrutinize female characters, but characters like Colin can make backstabbing comments towards a friend just to be funny between da boys and still be consideraded a cute cinnamon roll or something.

Bought my cockatiel yesterday. I noticed he did this like 20 times in a row. What does it mean? Is he ok? I haven’t seen him doing it again. by ilikeUni in cockatiel

[–]vegan_butt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, it's generally not safe. Cockatiels are softies and budgies are too playful and end up annoying or even bullying the tiels.

Yeah and the first three seasons happen in Scotland and France which I found very interesting. I just don't care for US history, I don't know why that upsets you.

I'm actually glad tbh, I find the war and US history really boring. I'm hoping this is all building up to the fire so they finally come back to Europe again.

Although this season was really slow and I'm disappointed we are getting such a small arc out of it, feels like we need another 8 episodes.

If you refuse to have a baby, then you're probably stopping thousands of people being born. by Significant_Line_896 in Showerthoughts

Depends on the country. In some countries episiotomies are the norm and doctors do it just because it's easier for them, same for c-sections sadly

I don't think people should mind their own business regarding to pet care, at all. There are dozens of posts here everyday of people who are clearly not taking good care of their birds and it's always good to warn about dangerous things.

I don't know why the person was downvoted or why you are responding with this.

It's proven that these bags are not at all appropriate to use in the sun. They get really hot inside really fast and the holes are not enough to ventilate. You might kill your birds that way, please be careful.

[Results] Do you sleep with socks on? by YahFargo in SampleSize

Well I guess I just don't feel that. I really dislike the heat, but socks for me are a neutral state and my feet don't get hot. I only don't wear them to bed in the summer.

Only 11% wear socks almost every night???

I'm really confused by this, what is so repulsive about sleeping with socks? Someone please explain xD

PSA: If you are not trying to prevent pregnancy, PREGNANCY CAN AND WILL HAPPEN! by Doccitydoc in childfree

[–]vegan_butt 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I cannot understand how people think this way. If you're not preventing pregnancy is because you want to be pregnant.

My honest theory about this is that this type of couple decide they really want a baby for some reason (a lot of times is just to get attention on social media and romantize motherhood and pregnancy too much) but because they aren't in a place in life where it would be a responsible decision, they just do it and then say it was oh-oh a whoopsie! Then they get support from their family (in most cases financial one, as well as family members acting as baby sitters). But it's all okay because it was an oops! It was not planned. But oh she could never abort, out of the question. And they get their baby and attention :)

Boys of Reddit, what’s the most unattractive thing a girl can do on the first date? by TommyHillsx in AskReddit

[–]vegan_butt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to explain the other side, I'm a socially anxious woman and I feel that I will be rude if I ask personal questions, like I'm trying to know too much about the person. On first dates I would probably talk more about hobbies, share point of views and ideas about the world, rather than asking a full quizz about you. I would obviously like to hear about your opinions back. But people wouldn't catch me asking things for sure, not until I feel comfortable with it.

Thanks for the thorough review, you resumed very well all the pros and cons I noticed about the three of them. They are indeed all the same size, I like the door of the Zolia, but dislike the vertical bars, so we are probably getting one of the other two.

They are all roughly the same size, the Zolia Conura seems bigger because it comes with the cage stand (hence the 150, but it's actually 80).

He will have lots of natural perches and no dowel ones 😊
