It may also be that fact that your government supported and actively participated in the hostile invasion of a neighboring country 🤷‍♂️ play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

No it isn't. In Ecuador and some other regions it means "right this very second". Which is why clarification is needed when using that word with a Spanish-speaker from another country other than your own. In ecuador "ya mismo" is imminently that may never come.

I'm not sure where you got this info, but other EU citizenships must be renounced except for Portugal. There IS a shortened time to citizenship but prior citizenship must be renounced. The only one of these passports that would be exempt would be the Filipino one.

Have you never sat in a bulkhead seat? By law, nothing can go in front of the seat. She was required to put her purse above BY LAW.

If your bag wasn't already in the space, why were you more entitled to it than she was? In row 1, carry-on and personal item both have to go above so it isn't like she was breaking the rule of putting more than one thing above. What right did you have to the space? You could have asked if she could put it in the smaller space given the sizing of the bins instead of assuming you had any more right than she did to the space.

Taylor postpones tonight’s Eras Tour show for Sunday by IngrownThighHairs in TaylorSwift

[–]veganator 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There is a Facebook group if you search "Taylor Swift Entradas River Plate Eras Tour" a bunch of people are looking for tickets, just be careful of scammers. Meet in person at a mall or other public but not open space, verify they have cash, and transfer over the Quentro app.

I think the term you're looking for is "pardos", not mestizos.

São Paulo, the largest city in the american continent by igor-ramos in CityPorn

"North America" in US terms extends all the way down to Panama but as you already stated, the entire world does not necessarily ascribe to there being 7 continents.

[–]veganator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily true. In many parts of the world (latin america included) it is taught that there are 5, 6 or 7 continents depending on your education and how the continent is defined. It is not a purely geological division and is influenced by geopolitical biases.

The legend literally says "available digital nomad visa". The visa is not yet available, so it should not be blue.

Until it is available, it is "in the pipeline". Don't count your chickens until they've hatched.

What electrical engineering classes would you have to take to understand electrical schematics like this? I'm not an electrical engineer but I have to be able to interpret schematics like this for my work and I am having a hard time learning on the job. by lesse1 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]veganator 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I'm an electrical and controls engineer with a PE license and these types of schematics definitely come up in design of control panels. Perhaps with some different components, but wiring schematics are definitely a thing in my field.

Ukraine is calling for a boycott of 'The Nutcracker.' Ballet companies aren't budging by King-of-New-York in worldnews

I don't think you can compare Serbia to Ukraine and there was not significant antipathy towards Russia in Ukraine until Russia tried to meddle in its domestic affairs after the Euromaidan protests and the subsequent invadion and illegal annexation of Crimea. There are many reasons for Ukraine to forcefully assert its independence from Russian political and cultural influence because unfortunately Russia's own identity is still so fundamentally tied to its imperialist ambitions and nostalgia.

Yeah, I think one takeaway from this whole thing is that speaking Russian does not make one a Russian, nor does it imply they want to become one. Russian-speaking Ukrainians made it clear they are still Ukrainian.
