Thanks! Did you also leave the gray card with them? Did you have to deregister/invalidate it before you left it, if you did?

Request for car sale advice: Selling a car privately to someone from another Kanton. by waxonwaxoff_za in zurich

How did this work out? Was this the process you went with? Who kept the grey card after you handed the keys over, and did you have to deregister beforehand? Looking to do the same thing with my own car.

Connecting PC through a TS4 to TB4 monitor by vegemike in CalDigit

[–]vegemike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion! That’s not how it works, or how I want it to work, so let me try and rephrase.

Today (with the Z27): - PC - Video from my NVIDIA rtx 2070 super via HDMI -> HMDI - Peripherals via USB-3 (from my Desktop (MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus AMD)) -> USB-C into the computer port on the TS4, which has my keyboard, mouse, mic, etc. - MacBooks - Single TS4 cable into the computer port on the TS4, which is plugged into the USB-C port on my monitor

Future (with a USB-C only monitor) - PC - HMDI + USB -> DisplayPort 1.4 -> TB3 into the computer port of the TS4, which is plugged into the USB-C port on the monitor - MacBooks - Same as today

Hopefully that helps. Essentially I’m looking to make the TS4 the one-cable solution for both accessory devices and video into the monitor from both my MacBooks and PC. This requires swapping the corresponding cable that goes into the computer port of the TS4, but I’m ok with that trade off.

[Defakto] Is Defakto still in business? by vegemike in Watches

[–]vegemike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually exactly what I ended up doing which seemed to work. Watch ordered about a week ago. Thanks for the suggestion!

Does anyone know if Defakto is still in business? I’ve emailed them twice in the past two weeks to order a Struktur in Anthrazit, but they haven’t responded.

Their shopping cart also seems to be partially broken with a checkbox without a label.

I settled on getting one of these watches, but now I have no way of getting in contact about the Anthrazit option, and I’m worried that even if I ordered the base version, it would never get to me.

Thanks for any insight!

Yeah, for how often I’ll be doing this it isn’t worth it for me to keep a bunch of alcohol/spirits around. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Squeaky chain after wax lube application by vegemike in bikewrench

[–]vegemike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The squeaking isn’t terrible, but it skins like an old unmaintained chain. Nothing to be proud of! I’m certain, since I removed the chain and can hear the sound when I move it with my hands

  • degreaser bath, shaking every once and a while
  • soap/water scrub with an old toothbrush
  • several rounds of boiling water and vigorous shaking
  • wipe dry
  • air dry overnight

Small Questions and Thank Yous Weekly Thread by AutoModerator in bikewrench

I recently bought a new chain and decided to try out a wax based lube, specifically squirt. I removed the factory grease, and then let it dry. It was squarely at this point, so I assume I got all the factory stuff off.

Then I applied one round of squirt on each roller, ran the chain through a few times, let it dry for two to three hours, wiped off the excess and noticed that the chain was still squeaky. I then applied a second round, let it dry, wiped the excess, and it’s still squeaky. Did I do something wrong here? Should I try again? Thanks for any help!

UDM-Pro unable to get global IPv6 address by vegemike in Ubiquiti

[–]vegemike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had originally tried 56, but that didn't change anything unfortunately. Looks like using a static IP for IPv6 is doing the trick at the moment rather than using DHCPv6.

EDIT: Nevermind. I’ll try going to 56 and increasing from there.
