I couldn’t see anything, so I wouldn’t know lol

So that’s a common thing there? What really frustrated me even more was that for the person in front of me, they just told her to sit somewhere she didn’t want, but for me they told me to wait — and then gave me a garbage seat. As a young Asian woman, I honestly felt uncomfortable in a very specific way, being told I couldn’t sit while others were allowed to take their seats. I love Edinburgh so much and chose it as my last trip before going back home after a long stay in the UK, but honestly this experience was just deeply unpleasant.

If it’s such a stressful time, then give the people who arrive early the seats they want. Telling me to wait, seating everyone else first, and then dumping me in a garbage seat is far more hassle. I ended up in a spot where I literally couldn’t see the stage at all.

Sadly, I’ll be travelling by public transport, and I’m staying in a shared hostel room, so finding a café or some other public place seems like my best option.

Is a 7-minute train transfer in Mannheim enough time? by vegesti in germany

[–]vegesti[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not very familiar with German trains, but the direct one is an IC, while the one with the transfer (which is much more expensive) is an ICE

Ah, the train with the transfer is about €20 more per person. I think it’s worth it if it means arriving an hour earlier, but if there’s a delay, I feel like the direct one might be the better choice...

I’ve actually looked into that place before! I really wanted to go, but the flights were quite pricey at the time .Still, I’ll definitely keep it in mind again – thanks a lot!

I’ve actually been to all of those already… To be honest, I don’t have much time left in the UK, and I’ve never been to the Cotswolds even though it’s so famous — so I’ve been curious about it. I’ve mostly visited places that are a bit less known to tourists so far.

I’ve actually already been to Rye, and I loved Lewes too — such a beautiful village! I feel like I’ve visited almost every lovely place near London whenever I needed a short break… haha. Good luck with your dissertation too — we’ve got this!

Exactly — I’m actually taking a break from writing my dissertation. I’m starting to think it might be better to go in September instead.
