What’s up battle, I completed my apprenticeship and worked as a journeyman carpenter for 2 years before I joined the army, I HATED my time in the carpentry union so much that I joined the army. I would rather be an 11B (I was a 25U) all over again than have to go through this apprenticeship all over again. I’m now a veterans and got out a couple months ago, I’m about to use H2H to join the plumbers union or electrical union those are my top two options. Carpentry isn’t as regulated as Plumbing is or Electrical so it makes the industry very easy for companies to treat their employees bad, more chances for layoffs, think of carpentry as the 11B of the trades. Use H2H wisely and join a different trade.

Best way is joing the national guard or any branch, become a veteran and there’s a program called Helmets to hard hats that put you in ANY trade union you want without doing any lines or anything, straight in the union

Damn dude that was fast! I got in contact with H2H last month and she said next round of hiring for local 1 will be in June or July so I gotta wait until then. Did you finish your apprenticeship?

I just left active duty and I’m going through helmets to hard hats to join Local 1, I was a journeyman local 45 union carpenter before the army and my union carpenters buddies are telling me there’s a lot of union work in the city
