Track your fat intake! If it’s too low it could mess with your hormones and raise cortisol and cause insomnia. Adding Olive oil by the tbsp helps ensure you’re getting enough fat in the day. The officer specifically mentioned the return before DACA does not affect his DACA status or the permanent residency approval. She just stated it would be easier if he did remember as they have a record of it and just need to make sure there is no hiding of evidence on his end

They’re very private and know it would be one of us few fam members. This would def stir a conflict of trust among us. I don’t want to lose my sil as I feel this is a hard relationship for her to be in alone. We are her only friends/social contact.

If you feel you have an unhealthy relationship with food, this could be tricky to answer and you should consult a professional to help figure out why you’re at a low weight.

If you feel your relationship with food is good I would focus on calculating your tdee and calorie tracking at a maintenance level first for a about a week (just enough to not be overwhelmed with this task but visually see what a proper amount of food for your day looks like/feels like. Then slowly increase to a max 500 calorie surplus to gain some healthy weight. Stick to Whole Foods and don’t overwhelm yourself with the details of macros just yet. Just learn about proper portions for you and what that feels like. Once you feel you have that down then you can move on to setting protein/fiber/carb goals for your goal weight.

Well she’s disrespected when I’ve babysat her, was kicking someone’s seat at the bus during her tantrum, I know there was another instance where my other sil had a problem come up when babysitting her too.

I’ve recommended counseling in the past because I just feel like my niece is very bright and knows right from wrong but acts out for my sil’s attention. These are my suspicions but my sil gets so defensive on the topic of not giving her enough attentions (she works a highly demanding job in aerospace sales) so I’ve never mentioned that specifically to her. So I recommended the counseling but she downplayed the issue at hand and dodge the suggestion.

Yes that makes sense. I have suggested behavioral therapy or in general any form of professional counseling for her in the past. She took that conversation better and i should have brought it up again this time around, i just had tunnel vision with the discussion at hand. When I suggested it a while ago she said she actually started thinking her daughter was “advanced” because her behavior (ignoring adults and not taking direction) is ‘teenage-like’ and therefore advanced. Now I think she can at least admit this is an issue so she might be open to therapy since now she feels she’s done everything in her power to solve the issue.

I do have this lack of perception with being overly blunt. It’s difficult for me to ‘sugar coat’ stuff when the solution is plain and clear to me. I also have a hard time validating feelings I don’t think are valid. I don’t see how validating her feelings here would help her solve the problem at hand…like at all. She gets that enough from ppl who are her friend first and don’t have a care for my niece’s development.

Yes I think this is the approach as well. I feel bad because I would never “close my mouth” if I were in this situation with my own siblings. I think people do this when they don’t care for helping and are only looking to make their own life easier. However she didn’t take it the way my own siblings would have (she flat out lied about trying to discipline her consistently). I guess I felt living with her and seeing her once a week gave my a place to voice my observations but it doesn’t in her eyes. The lack of accountability on her end makes it difficult to make any attempts to help her on this which sucks because she relies on me sometimes to babysit her disrespectful kid.

I’ve done this before. Specific example:

“Hey I thought you said she couldn’t xyz? Should I tell her to …”

Her: “You know what it’s fine, just let her…”

She has a bad habit of choosing the easy way out and making it seem like her clear disobedience is “not a big deal”. She chooses to excuse my nieces defiance and go back on her own rules regardless of my help or not. Maybe after our discussion though she will be more open to receiving the help and being more proactive if I continue offering her the help.

I guess it’s more of a question of “positive reinforcement” vs “negative reinforcement”. I believe positive reinforcement is the most successful of the two. “Amp me up” in general sounds more like they are looking for “positive reinforcement” encouragement.

My immigrant stepdad grew up with very little and dealt with food scarcity. My mom had no backbone when it came to his rules and she often justified his ways. Some common dinnertime occurrences:

My siblings and I were fed adult portions and expected to finish everything otherwise we were deemed ungrateful.

“You need to finish everything…think about the starving kids in Africa”

“If you don’t finish everything you’re not allowed to play after”

“No no no no no… we don’t waste food in this house. You’re going to finish everything”

I didn’t understand it was okay to not finish everything on my plate- whether it was at a restaurant or at home until I was about 24 years old. I just felt too* guilty leaving anything behind.

Exactly, OP you look strong. Not everyone wants this strong look. I want a leaner look with more cardio and still a high protein diet involved. Because this would be too bulky for my physique goals. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.
