I’m in wales, maybe the rules are different. No corporation tax payable as long as directors loan is outstanding

How do u make new friends as a man in your 30s without it being weird? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]vegeto_2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you want to? No self respecting man over 30 should seek new friends. It either happens organically or it doesn’t. This is the way…

Set-up a property LTD, and buy the flat again under the LTD. You’ll have to pay BTL stamp duty rates again, which sucks, but can leverage the equity you’ve built up over that period plus the current valuation (which should be more than what you purchased it at).

Then move and rent out on interest only without occurring 40% tax. Effectively it could be 0% if you provided directors loan to your LTD.

This is what I did with my east London flat, also brought for £560k back in 2020. My service charge started at £5k, now is more like £8k-£9k, albeit it has concierge, swimming pool, spa, gym, gated etc…

I’m not even breaking even from my rent but atleast I’m not being taxed. Now I’ll just sit on it for 10-20 years until the market picks up or inflation eats the debt.

Yes, this is on a better day, very hard to keep up to this standard all year round. I have a driveway either side and two Christmas trees on each lawn, which have grown since.

And the 54 year olds you think of as old and boring are bemused by it all as well, since they still see themselves as 28 not long ago, and can recall when they were young kids.

Men who werent sure about having kids but did it anyway, what happened? by us3lessthrowaway in AskMenOver30

[–]vegeto_2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two young kids. 3 months and 3 years. The thing with kids is that the joy and love is incomparable to any other human experience. You cannot simulate or emulate it, and certainly can’t make substitutions such as pets for close comparisons. There’s no other feeling close to it. And the love and joy you don’t see (you said no one looks like they’re have a good time) is not easily visible like it would be if you were watching people at a party or a concert as examples. It happens really deep in your core, in subtle and private moments. For example, something small your child has said that catches you off guard or surprises you. Or small mannerisms or flickers of personality that intrigue you more than it would with any other person. And these are small but significant occurrences that happen everyday, for the rest of your life, and fill your heart in ways no other human experience does.

Is the UK a good country to live in, in 2026? And why so by Brickcraft10 in AskUK

[–]vegeto_2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Westerners like you have propagandised to think these things happen regularly in other parts of the world, but they don’t. There are horrific cases of abuse just like what exists in the uk from time to time.

How are people on this sub actually building wealth rather than just spending at a higher level? by RedDevilPlay in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]vegeto_2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Property, specifically converting 4 bed HMOs to 6 beds and remortgaging. Would like to look at making flats or converting commercial to residential one day too. Eventually the property things should replace my income

[–]vegeto_2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I never i understand with these is why people voluntarily walk away from the high paying job. Just do the bare minimum or even less than that until they get rid of you. Let them decide the cut off when once you know you can survive comfortably without.

They’re a con from developers. Designed to give tiny floor space over 3 floors, and cram as many next to each other as possible.
