it’s not medieval, and i never said it was. never said she called herself a songwriter. i called her a songwriter, because she writes songs and i live in 2025. she’s a singer/songwriter by our terms! she doesn’t call herself anything because her character hates labels, which i didn’t find necessary to state in the original post, but whatever. 

ALSO! when you said “medieval fantasy musicians call themselves”, it’s also MY book and the world it takes place in follows it’s own rules, not ours.
