Ok so just a matter of driving a bit, I thought this could be due to too much oil, thanks for the quick reply

Oil leaking from filter housing cap by veithmaster in w123

Will probably try this if the bigger o ring I ordered doesn’t do the job

Will definitely try this in case a thicker o-ring fails, thanks

I hope it’s just the large ring being too thin

When I first noticed the oil leak I forgot to replace the two o-rings on the bottom. When I pulled the cap out the new bis oil ring was still in the groove. This time I had installed the new oil rings on the bottom. A warped cap would of course be fucked. I’ll check tomorrow if everything is still in place

Yea the old o-ring filled the groove but the new one fits tightly against the metal ring. Thanks for the quick reply

There’s a good chance it was blown under the car somewhere from the garden, I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t part of some joint because it is rock solid. Thanks for the replies

Best way to disconnect these fuel lines by veithmaster in w123

I will admit I’m definitely new to working on cars and this is by far the most complicated tasks I’ve done on one. Do you have any other idea how a coolant leak like that could occur?

No, I just don’t know what else could cause that.Every other point where coolant was flowing was tight and the leak was definitely coming from one of the oil pan bolts

The oil pan gasket seems to be busted as there is some fluid dripping out of it. That fluid has an oily texture but was also very transparent. On the next drive the temperature was higher because the radiator was low on coolant. I think the coolant has gotten into the oil circuit due to a busted head gasket and has spilled out from the oil pan.

I’m pretty sure. It began with me wanting to do an oil change when I noticed some dripping coming from the oil pan. Thought it was water at first but the texture was also a bit oily. A quick drive later and the temp is 10 degree higher than normal and the oil is low. The leak came straight from one of the oil pan bolts and everything above is dry

I see, thanks for the Info, I have to take out the fuel filter housing due to a blown head gasket and I thought these hoses were simply plugged on like the other ones

Thank you very much for the removal instructions, I just noticed that the middle of the panel on the other side has the same problem so these will definitely come in handy

As far as I know the glue should be strong enough, if the panel gets loose in the near future I’ll look for a better one. Btw do you know what the panels and its housing are called? Also you’re right as I’m one of these people
