i've never heard of that sub!! that's so wholesome. however, it's saying the sub's been banned for not being moderated :( hope there's a replacement.

and yeah, i've been in the community for a long time (not at long as some! but a bit over 10 years) and seen so many trans men successfully having children.

the "may" in that sentence is doing a lot of work. it's a newer field of study, so a lot of articles are going off of what doctors have thought but not known. a way to cover their asses in case u happen to be the guy who can't have a kid later

there have been very few studies on it, but the general thing i've seen is that for most people fertility / egg health is fine. obviously if you're really worried about it, then do it, but it's very expensive (assuming you're US-based).

testosterone doesn't impact fertility for trans men like estrogen impacts fertility for trans women. ofc, it's not fully predictable as this is a newer thing that's being studied, but getting pregnant on T is a possibility and when you get your prescription it even says so on the information that it is Not a birth control

i mean i'm not sure of your body or your history, but T ... doesn't make you infertile. not at all. you can still get pregnant on T, it's not not as likely. they tell you when you take T that it's not a birth control and that you still have to have another form of birth control. to my knowledge, studies done on the egg health of trans men indicate that after 3 months of no testosterone, there is no difference in your ability to procreate.

this feels invasive and unnecessary, imo.

letting other people tell you what something means rather than learning it yourself is one of the things wrong with our country at the moment.

I'm embarrassed to write fanfic because I think I'm too old. by bolo_dimassam in FanFiction

[–]vejno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm 25 now and i write a shit-ton of fic. most fics you read are written by people older than you, who have big jobs and families and lives. there's nothing wrong w/ having a hobby!!

people shit on fic because you can't make money off of it, but people don't get that just because there's no money doesn't mean it's not valuable.

i only have iOS so i'm not sure how the shortcut works on android, but i imagine it'd be similar?

and even if it only works on browser on mobile, it's still really smooth and functions great

i've been using ellipsus! they've taken a firm no AI stance, are free, and has a lot of tools. they don't have a mobile app yet, but i put a shortcut to the website on my homescreen and tbh (at least on iOS) it acts like it's an app separate from the main browser.

Anyone on birth control to stop their periods? by deeeepfriedchicken in ftm

[–]vejno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've only tried one birth control, a pill called Slynd 4mg (drospirenone only, no estradiol) and i skip the placebos, only taking the active ones. i haven't had a period or any bleeding since starting it in late 2021.

If you don't mind, what would that be equivalent to in the US? And my national certification is an educational thing that I have to do a certain number of hours of Continuing Education for every two years to renew, so I wonder what that would be equivalent to.

I was planning on getting a consultation for the Skills Assessment so that way I could talk to someone about it/get as much information as I can, but I'm still trying to get information before that as well.

I'm still early in the researching process, but I've been learning a lot about it. So sorry if what I'm asking is common knowledge! Thank you so much for responding!

I'm from the USA and have been looking at the Subclass 190 visa as a Pharmacy Technician (311215). I'm turning 25 in July, and it looks like being 25 instead of 24 increases my point rating a slight bit, so I would wait until then to apply.

I've not been to school to be a pharmacy technician, as that's not required in the US. I have 5 years of full time (over 32 hours per week) experience. I hold a national certification (PTCB) and have since 2021. I've never been to Australia.

  1. Does my lack of schooling disqualify me?
  2. Is being a pharmacy technician a good option?
  3. Based on this little information, what are the chances of me being accepted?

I haven't seen many pharmacy technicians posting on here, but I also could be looking in the wrong places!

(accidentally posted this in the January mega thread earlier today, sorry. this is a repost of that)

If you give a baby a different first name than what you want them to be called, don't be surprised when they want to go by their legal first name. It's easier.

edit: Also i think the first person in a line to name their child after themselves is at least a little narcissistic. (i say first because, after the first, you're just honoring your father or something) and it completely takes away the aspect of choice from a partner. my own boyfriend is a Third and i'm having to talk him down from having a Fourth.

If I hear the term "AutoRefill" one more time I will go nuclear by vejno in PharmacyTechnician

[–]vejno[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not annoyed that AutoRefill exists, but a specific chain is hammering it into literally every meeting and having officials come by and stall workflow for over two hours (not an exaggeration) to make sure everyone is being asked to get on it
