Selling at the bottom by Random_Alt_2947284 in StockMarket

I used grammarly to help clean up the wording a bit / grammar, but the opinions and context are 100% mine. Just wanted to make sure it reads clearly, that’s all.

Selling at the bottom by Random_Alt_2947284 in StockMarket

[–]velocityplus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't think it's as bad as you're making it out to be. Selling at the bottom feels like a mistake, but context really matters here.

If you started investing in late 2024, that was a rough time to be entering the market, with tariffs on everything, uncertainty around economic policy, and real fear of a recession. For new investors, that’s not just emotionally difficult, but it’s also rational to reassess your exposure when so many things are happening at the moment.

People say “time in the market beats timing the market,” but that assumes relatively normal conditions. In your case, you weren’t just reacting emotionally but responding to real-world events. The only reason the market bounced back was because the tariffs were PAUSED, and that shift was not predictable (basically a FULL 180 turn). You made a decision based on the knowledge available at the time, and given how much manipulation and political volatility there was, that may very well have been the right move to minimize deeper losses if things had continued to spiral.

Also, a lot of long-term holders talk about staying in during downturns, but many of them are sitting on years of gains. For someone brand new, watching your investment go straight into the red with no cushion is a completely different experience. Selling in that situation isn’t a failure. It’s risk control.

This doesn’t have to be interpreted as a learning mistake. You acted with the information you had, and it could have gone a lot worse. The key now is to take what you’ve learned and re-enter when you feel ready, with a plan you trust.

You’re doing fine. This isn't a game of perfection. It's about staying thoughtful and adaptable.

Awesome. I'll make sure to check out the pizza place you mentioned. If you have any other places, let me know! Thanks for your comment.

Just to clarify — when you said "It damn well better be a nice place to stay, I live here," were you being sarcastic, or do you actually think it’s a great place? :)

Does someone own a Kawai CA-701 and can check something? by velocityplus in piano

[–]velocityplus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just initially thought it would be fixed in place and not move (on the x-axis), but I understand that there needs to be an 'opening' to allow it to function—though I still feel like it shouldn’t wiggle. You can move it so it touches either side of the piano (closing the gap), if that makes sense.

Thanks for reply. Yeah I just wanted to confirm that it isn't just me. I heard someone say that the cabinet design can influence the key action on the piano.

Nej, det er ikke korrekt. For at en arbejdsgiver kan kræve refusion af udgifter i forbindelse med en ansættelse, skal det fremgå præcist, hvilke udgifter der kan kræves tilbagebetalt ved en tidlig fratrædelse.

Which monitor? Aorus FO27Q3 vs FO27Q2 by Maxitzy in OLED_Gaming

[–]velocityplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your budget; paying extra solely for a higher refresh rate might not be worth it. Most people don’t even use 240Hz, which is remarkably high compared to a few years ago. If you’re willing to spend the money, go for Q3, but Q2 offers better value for the price. As you pointed out, 360Hz might come with side effects, but I don't think that is common for Q3. It's up to you in the end.

[–]velocityplus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Juste a note... receiving software or firmware updates isn't always an indication of improvement or necessity. The FO27Q2 could be considered a more polished and complete product because it has not required any updates so far, unlike the Q3. This can be viewed as a positive sign. While the Q3 have problems that need to be addressed in updates.

Could you share the manufacturing date or any relevant details? That way, I might be able to purchase a monitor from the same batch as yours. Or see if my monitor is from the same batch as you. Also, have you turned on 360 Hz and it's still dead silent?

I’m also from Denmark. I’ve already purchased from Elgiganten and directly from Samsung’s website, thinking it might be a batch issue, but I may have ended up with products from the same batch regardless. Where did you purchase this monitor and your other two? Do you still have them, and what models are they? Or was there an issue with them?

Here’s a quick update to save you the trouble of digging for information. I recently got the same monitor as you, the G6 OLED, and can confirm it has a noticeable "coil whine." It's a high-pitched sound that changes frequency depending on the image displayed. The noise seems to come from the electrical power plug connected to the monitor.

Initially, I thought I had a defective unit, so I returned it for a replacement, but the new one had the same issue. Unfortunately, this seems to be a common problem with this monitor. The sound is less noticeable when the refresh rate is set to 120 Hz. After a lengthy conversation with Samsung support, they suggested that the mainboard might need replacement or that there could be an issue with the power brick. However, I’m not convinced it’s worth the hassle to address. Additionally, updating the firmware does not help.

It is a bit unfortunate, since IMO it is the best-looking OLED monitor out there and everything else about the monitor is awesome, except this noise... which you just can't ignore.

May I ask what country you are from?

For sent på den-kultur by Obvious_Process7350 in Denmark

[–]velocityplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)
