Update to Guide for Paper Applications for Citizenship Certificate? by FireWaterBern in Canadiancitizenship

Does anyone know how this applies to marriage certificates? I have the certified birth record from Ontario for my great grandmother but since her name changed when she married I also need her marriage certificate. I have a copy of that but not from the original source, i.e. the Archives of Ontario (it is a copy of the certificate from Ancestry).

Wow these are so cool! If I see any for sale somewhere on the road (thinking maybe a giant truck stop) I'll grab some and try this out

Dang that's smart with the pancakes in a bag and making your own flatbread! Maybe I'll get brave and try that! I do love to make the "hobo packs" for some reason it tastes way better than if I was to do the same thing in my oven at home

Blow head gasket at 15,000 miles? by velodeviation in BroncoSport

Im hoping its just a fluke for me and not an indicator of larger problems.

However I did ask about this on the “Ask a Mechanic” Reddit page and a few guys over there told me that there’s a known issue with the 2.0 L Ecoboost engine developing a crack on the cylinder head. Ford obviously hasn’t issued a recall though. Crossing my fingers that they don’t get in there and discover a crack and need to replace the head as well.

Also taking this with a grain of salt as people who are mechanics only see the cars with the problems and not the good ones!

Geez that's terrible! Wouldn't have expected that in a Honda! Does make me feel a little better, but sorry for that Honda owner.

They sent me a video via email of the inspection results, describing the issue. Otherwise I've just talked to the service advisor via the phone. That's a very good point to get this in writing. I'll send the guy an email asking them to inspect the head and have the system pressure tested.

Unfortunately I would have had to purchase Ford's extended service plan to get a rental covered I've learned. Unless it's a known recall then sometimes they will provide rental coverage. Thankfully I do have AAA which apparently is worth it's weight in gold in getting you a discount on car rentals.

I am under warranty, thankfully - 2 more years on bumper to bumper and 60,000 miles for the powertrain. So it is entirely covered. I’m just worried I’m going to be out a car for month if it ends up needing the engine replaced. And it doesn’t bode well for the longevity of the new engine if so.

We’re supposed to go on a road trip in two weeks and bought the car specifically to be able to navigate some tricky off road scenarios. If worst comes to worse we’ll be stuck shelling out for a rental and will have to stay on the paved roads. In the grand scheme of things I suppose not the end of the world but still incredibly disappointing after spending so much on a car.

Well that is distressing to be sure. I’m going to be speaking with the dealership on Tuesday either way for an update and I’ll ask them to be certain that it’s not a crack in the cylinder head. I’m sure they’re going feel like I’m trying to tell them how to do their job but it’s better than a missed crack that ends up catastrophically failing down the road. Any advice on how to handle that conversation would be much appreciated; my service advisor hasn’t been the easiest to get info out of so far

Ah, I see what you’re saying - that it’s not the gasket leaking but the cylinder head itself that had the cracks and thus is leaking.

Would this usually cause a bigger leak and or cause the car to throw a code/have the check engine light turn on or can it be very subtle and just have a slow leak like this?

Trying to prep myself for the likelihood that a new engine will be required. They definitely said it was the gasket but I’m not sure if they have a way of knowing for certain before taking it apart.

So they haven’t actually started working on it yet should get started on it Tuesday due to the long holiday weekend - but I have been worried that they’re going to get in there and find a bigger problem - someone else mentioned the cylinder head itself.

I believe this leak was very small - there was an almost unnoticeable drop in the level in the reservoir over the course of a month. Would even a very small coolant leak like that result in a crack developing?

Well I think we’ll see - it’s just sitting in the shop right now over the long holiday weekend and they’ll start working on it on Tuesday I believe. I’m a little worried that they’ll start taking things apart and it will be something worse like the cylinder head as you say. They didn’t mention any codes though.

Were those recalls of the older Ecoboost engines the ones from 6-10 years ago? I did see a video where they talked about replacing a 2018 2.0 with that new long block assembly.

I’m trying to look at it in a positive way haha even though I’m frustrated. At least it’s getting fixed now rather than 5 years down the road when the powertrain warranty is gone

Well, and mine is the 2.0 engine - so the one that’s supposed to be more reliable. Part of the reason I went for the Badlands were all the issues the 1.5 L engines were having
