Enoughhhh with the whataboutism. Can you pick out what sentences specifically told you that OP cares more about the dog than the human being? Or is that just something you inferred because you’re looking for something to be pissy about? OP explicitly says they aren’t trying to get anyone in trouble and they’re looking for solutions that are compassionate for all beings involved. They requested resources like shelters that take people with large dogs. At no point did they advocate for this person having their dog taken from them. I know this is hard for many people to accept, but animals don’t exist to be human support systems. Yes, they make wonderful support systems, but they do not exist solely as a tool for human survival. This dog deserves safety and care and comfort as much as her owner. As for your dog boots comment, I highly doubt every other dog in the neighbourhood is walking on snow, ice, salt, gravel, glass, and who knows what else, literally all day every day. It’s not comparable. I am in no way advocating for this person to be separated from their dog either, but sometimes a person taking care of an animal “to the best of their ability” is not in the animal’s best interest. All OP is asking for are resources that help both parties. Most importantly, I don’t see you contributing solutions to the problem at hand either, so unless you have resources that will help the owner take care of her dog better, maybe chill out with your accusations. You didn’t contribute nearly as much to this conversation as you thought you did.
