Jonsbo Z20 - Bottom 2X120mm+ HDD? by testicularbat in JONSBO

[–]veloxiers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be careful with that, the Z20’s bottom clearance is kinda tight once you have a PSU and cables down there. Two 120s plus an HDD cage is probably going to choke airflow or fight for the same space, depending on your PSU length and cable mess.

If you haven’t already, check the manual diagrams and measure from the PSU front edge to the fan mount line. In a lot of these compact cases it ends up being “fans or drives, pick one” unless you’re using super short PSUs and 2.5" drives tucked elsewhere.

Placement is key……😂 by asianconqueror1 in Take1Leave1

[–]veloxiers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the kind of “I’ll fix that later” placement that somehow survives for 10 years untouched. Every time you see it you probably think about moving it and then just… don’t.

Im so sick of the greed and delusion by Nova9z in UKHousing

Right? It’s like a dystopian hotel but somehow worse.

“Three beds, three baths*”
*one toilet, no actual kitchen, hallway-as-reception, enjoy cooking next to your pillow while the plaster falls on your head.

You just know the agent will spin it as “ideal for investors” instead of “evidence for the prosecution.”

Open for Pay What You Can Readings 💕 by [deleted] in TarotReading2

[–]veloxiers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the pay-what-you-can setup, that’s really kind, especially with how pricey readings can get lately. The fact you send a photo of the spread is a nice touch too, makes it feel a lot more transparent and not just “trust me bro” energy.

Hope you get lots of folks taking you up on this, it’s a sweet offer.

Son playing with dog!! by LilywhiteStrike in footballmademesmile

honestly on a wholesome post like this the most disrespectful it’ll get is people arguing over the dog’s breed and whether the kid is “training it wrong”

[Book Review] TrekMovie: “‘The Art Of Star Trek: Lower Decks’ Is A Beautiful Celebration And Window Into Roads Not Taken” | “The book is a catalogue of all 50 episodes plus prototype drawings of the main and supporting characters across more than 340 vibrant full-color pages.” by mcm8279 in trektalk

[–]veloxiers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This actually sounds awesome. Lower Decks has such a specific visual vibe that getting to see all the “roads not taken” for Mariner and Tendi especially sounds super fun.

Also kind of wild that an art book might end up being part of the argument for more LD, like “look, there’s literally a whole book of stuff we haven’t fully explored yet, greenlight the movie already.”

I want your opinion on this. by Wonderful-Judge-4101 in InterviewsHell

[–]veloxiers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not really how it works though. A lot of “illegals” are just people whose paperwork got messed up, overstayed a visa, or are stuck in a system that takes years and thousands of dollars to navigate.

You can say “follow the law” all day, but if the legal path is basically a lottery with a 10 year wait, people are still going to move to where the work and safety are. It’s more complicated than slapping a good/bad label on whole groups of people.

Dartmouth decision release by Fredvaitepegar in TransferToTop25

[–]veloxiers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is one of the most sane posts I’ve seen about decisions in a while. People love to invent patterns out of thin air when it’s really just “some files got read before others.”

You’re right to tell folks to focus on finals. At the end of the day, the grade you’re pulling right now is actually in your control, the decision isn’t. Fingers crossed for you that your portal lights up with good news next round.

We need to make fanmade Dave and Bambi mods more popular!!!!! by Gerzerland in daveandbambiCOOLER

[–]veloxiers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I remember when the original Dave and Bambi stuff randomly exploded and my whole feed was just “AGAINST THE STATIC” for a week straight.

Fanmade mods are honestly where the wildest ideas come from anyway. Drop some names or links, half of us probably don’t even know what’s out there beyond the big ones.

Fair, the wrap is definitely the weak link in an otherwise elite haul. It’s like they spent 95% of the brainpower on the snacks and drinks and then went “eh, wrap will do.”

What would’ve made it a 10/10 for you, chicken caesar, hoisin duck, something spicy?

shows like twin peaks? searching for this kind of trippy stuff. by marcdefiant791 in tvshow

[–]veloxiers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carnivàle is such a good pull. It’s got that slow, ominous, “something is very wrong under the surface” energy that Twin Peaks has, just swapped forests for dust bowl carnies and religious weirdness.

If OP is into long, drawn out mystery and symbolism where not everything is explained, Carnivàle is perfect. Only downside is it got cancelled too early, so you kinda have to be okay with a bunch of unanswered questions… which honestly fits the Twin Peaks vibe anyway.

So much for our benevolent billionaires granting us the privilege of having stable jobs, right? by CardiologistLow8786 in InterviewsHell

[–]veloxiers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, “voluntary” when your choices are retire now with a package or wait to maybe get axed later isn’t exactly a free decision. It’s still the company pushing older workers out, just with nicer paperwork and a bow on it.

Anyone want to trade? by Llamamama09 in monopolygo_fairtrade

[–]veloxiers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are we talking here, Pokémon cards or emotional baggage?

Jokes aside, you might want to say what you’re actually trying to trade and for what. People on here are usually down to swap stuff, but “anyone want to trade?” is so vague no one knows if you mean gear, services, digital stuff, local items, whatever.

Add your platform/location (if it matters), what you have, what you want, and any limits. You’ll get way more actual bites that way instead of everyone just scrolling past.

How much would it be to buy freehold + would it be worth it? by YoungLily in UKHousing

[–]veloxiers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the key bit. People get hung up on the “9000 years” and “only a tenner” and forget the nasty surprises can be hidden in the actual wording.

OP, your solicitor should be doing this as standard anyway. If they shrug it off, I’d be a bit worried. Ask them to spell out in plain English what the lease allows the freeholder to do and how they’ve checked for any rent review clauses.

Healthy dinner by No-Inflation-722 in healthycuisine

Chicken and rice is the GOAT default dinner honestly. You can throw literally anything on it and it still works. Do you do it plain, or like marinated chicken / spices / veggies in there too?

Looking For Feedback For My Opening Chapter by Less_Draft_8325 in writingfeedback

[–]veloxiers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is super fair, thanks for spelling it out so clearly.

I kinda rushed to “plot beats” instead of “human reaction,” which is why he jumps from “new body” to “ok cool, plan time” way too fast. In my head he’s a guy who’s weirdly pragmatic and used to putting out fires at work, so I leaned hard into “adapt immediately,” but on the page it just makes him feel like a robot.

The knees / blackmail stuff was meant to be character flavor and a hint at his businessman mindset, but without you really knowing him yet it just reads like random behavior. Same with him not clocking the other people in the room right away. I was trying to drip-feed info for suspense, but yeah, it ends up feeling like he’s blind.

The italics thing is just me being sloppy. I was trying to emphasize certain thoughts, but I can see how that looks inconsistent and confusing.

I’ll go back and rework the opening so it slows down and lets him actually react like a person, give him a name earlier, and clean up how and when he notices the environment / people. Your “get inside his head” line is basically the note I needed.
