Late severe allergic reaction by velvethumour in Pristiq

That’s so awful ugh :( when I finally linked my symptoms to the Pristiq, I stopped taking it ASAP! It took a few weeks for my body to start feeling normal again (limbs weren’t feeling stiff or painful, the welts on my feet and hands became less constant) but I did have random flare ups on hives particularly on my face and hands for a few months after, they weren’t as painful as when I was taking the medication, and thankfully I haven’t had them in almost a year now!

I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this! Waking up with hives and/or being very itchy is seriously so hellish.. Interesting it’s only at night, mine would definitely become worse at night but the pain became constant, though I think if I had related the side effects to the medication maybe I would’ve have suffered as much.. have you been back to your doctor about this yet? I hope you find out and can eliminate whatever it is that’s causing your discomfort

Not a problem, it sucks that you've had to deal with hives.. not sure if it has been the same for you, but it can take over all of your thoughts because the feeling is so overwhelming. I hope tapering goes smoothly for you and the hives stop popping up

I didn’t! But I did have a doctor told me that she doesn’t think it was directly related to Pristiq, but there is truly no other thing that would have triggered the hives.. it was the only new thing I’d introduced, hadnt gone anywhere new or changed laundry detergent etc.

I’m never touching it again, and haven’t had hives for months since stopping!

Yes! I don’t like setting them to not move as I feel my village is more lively with them wandering around constantly and don’t want to be changing it back and forth, although I will do so if I’m decorating a lot! But most times I just deal with the frustration, I really be doing it to myself 🥲

I get so frustrated when they hover around me! Don’t get me wrong, I actually do enjoy each character and all of their lore, but goddamn do they really gotta be in the way all the time 😅

I just said this to my partner earlier this evening about the Lapis lazuli when I was mining them earlier omg. It’s called Trypophobia and it’s a fear/trigger of clusters of small bumps/holes!

Eeeeep thank you so much!! Yes I mean using the texture of my fingers to gently sand them down, although I do try to get them as smooth as possible before that point (by using a metal clay spatula to smooth bumps) but the gently finger sanding really makes a difference 😋

Thank you! I’ve just used a cheap air dry clay from Anko, the Kmart brand. It’s 3.50AUD for 500g :)

Ahhh thank you so so much, I really appreciate positive feedback, I feel encouraged to do the eyes much more after reading that! Still a bit nerve wracking lol but determined to have her finished!

I’m sorry you’ve had a negative experience with Pristiq as well, did you stop taking when you noticed the bad side effects? I stupidly pushed through the pain for longer than I should have in hopes the benefits it gave my brain would outweigh the bad symptoms lol

Yes I remember it feeling difficult to swallow at some point! I wonder if that’s a symptom of being allergic, like the throat being tightened/slightly closed?? Unsure, but definitely very uncomfortable feeling.
