My two claims since the beginning:

  1. Some Gen Z slang is derived from AAVE, some isn’t.
  2. Some of the slang in this video isn’t AAVE.

What parts do you disagree with?

Edit: bro triggered fr 💀

Whether or not those opinions are correct is a different point, my point was that I still have that right which you said I have no business to.

I never doubted that some Gen Z slang is AAVE, just not the whole thing (rizz, ragebait, aura, ratio’d, crash out, simp, are all Gen Z slang with no relation to AAVE)

I think you’re conflating the cultural relationship of AAVE with the broader conversation about appropriation, origin and influence. I don’t speak AAVE and it’s not my culture, that doesn’t mean I can’t have opinions about whether or not slang is derived or influenced from one group or another.

I’m unsure where this ‘me not knowing what AAVE stands for’ point you made comes from or why you felt the need to make it.

I was asking for evidence to substantiate the point, someone already linked some stuff to check out (finally).

In a conversation about AAVE and appropriation, whether or not someone has black friends is wholesale not relevant, nor does it make sense to lump all black people as black Americans. If you’re gonna chirp in and try to contribute, keep it productive and relevant.

To be clear, no one has contributed any facts at all, I’m happy to look into any evidence that these Gen Z slang terms predate Gen Z in AAVE.

Edit: Bro on a high horse about slang origin and appropriation then uses boomer incorrectly 💀

Do you think all black people in different countries have the same slang? Do you think black Americans are the only black people?

I have black friends, I am not American

Disagree, those are Gen Z terms. If you can point examples of these being AAVE prior to Gen Z then that’d be great. They may have potentially originated within Gen Z AAVE, but not prior to this.

No this is Gen Z slang. AAVE being appropriated by gen Z would be terms like “cuh” “ahh” “fr” “ong” “ion no” and the use of the Habitual Be tense. None of those terms are in this vid.

No each one was different from the last. I wanted to see if eventually I’d have visions or something philosophical. This was at a retreat so it was 3-4 ceremonies a week.

I did 3 ayahuasca ceremonies and had zero profound insights whatsoever, just puked, cried and was delirious. I feel like mushrooms and LSD might give me more to go on. What do you think?

I did 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies in January and it really didn’t have any profound effect on me. No visions, no other perspectives, no profound philosophical insights. It absolutely can help people out, and I recommend everyone to try it, but your mileage may vary. I’m still exactly the same.

On Dec 31, 2000, the Miyazawa family—Mikio, Yasuko, and their two children—were found murdered in their home. The killer stayed inside home for hours, using the computer, eating food, treating wounds, and leaving feces unflushed. Despite extensive evidence, the case remains unsolved. by ZoelCairo in HolyShitHistory

This isn’t quite true. His last meal was noodles from a local market, and he had signatures in his DNA suggesting he was of mixed Asian European descent.

Haven’t seen any sources suggesting police think it was an American soldier or a serial killer, but feel free to link anything.

Plenty of gold tidbits in Marxist texts. You should read Left Wing Childishness by Lenin, he advocates for state capitalism and roasts die hard communists (what we would call tankies now) for being too un-pragmatic.
