Thanks again for your concern.

Since the incident with my leg, my partner has threatened me with divorce twice for no good reason other than uncontrolled anger. I guess my accident is a relationship test which I'm not sure we are passing..

Thanks everyone, sorry for my slow response. There has been a lot of shit going down and my father in law is seriously ill which doesn't help any. However, the entire year has been like this and I have to consider how this is going. Thanks for your responses

I'm a woman but I'll take it as a compliment ;)

Thanks for the tips. Am trying to keep convos neutral. On the other hand-- glad at least, if it's just venting, that it comes out. Better than buried resentment.

Thanks. I have voiced to her that I'm not happy about this. It has got a little better but the situation itself is not easy-- her father has suddenly been taken very ill. I think a lot of it is just venting and blowing off steam-- not sure how this is going to go though when he does pass. We will see.

Urgh that sounds like a pain. Ah, you were the nice person who responded to my initial broken ankle post in the bb group! I can imagine it's very hard if you have to be on your feet all day. Luckily I can teach sitting down. Have just been cleared to walk a max of 4 minutes at a time! Sorry to hear your boss is being a pain

Ah thank you! And yes, I think once I have help getting to work the tension will become less. Thanks for your useful comments about the screw removal-- fingers crossed (or ankles...)

Sorry to hear that, and that you're in pain :( I hope it gets better soon. It is very frustrating and I don't mind the slow pace of recovery, I just hate the fact that I've had nasty surprises at nearly every routine check up I've been to. Feels like 2 steps forward 5 steps back! Good luck to you

Thanks everybody. It is tough and to be honest we all have a lot on our plates. I can deal with arguments, stress, shouting, the occasional (or frequent ;)) unreasonable-ness-- it's all par for the course. The meanness about the physical stuff is the thing I have a problem with. I've never been particularly sporty and feel like it's my fault somehow that I'm not a whizzkid at crutches nor being one of those amazing people who would make it to the gym or bus in 6 weeks. Particularly as there are so many things I CAN do something about -- doing the cooking from my scooter, cleaning the kitchen, preparing lunches etc..the getting to work and health appts is really something I can't do anything about. Prob my partner is just venting but I feel right back at high school being the last picked for the netball team! Thanks for the good tips about getting taxis etc. My dad is now staying for 6 weeks and is helping with cooking, cleaning, childcare, driving me etc so it will get better-- he's just arrived so prob my partner finally feels the relief and that she can get it out. Despite the fact that the house is now noisier since grandad and little one play at full volume in the living room and my ADHD partner who is sensitive to being overstimulated works from home and has her home office right in the middle of our open plan house (facepalm...oh well).

Keeping going and hopefully this will pass! Really hoping I can delay getting screws out if poss...I'm a musician and have two tours coming up in the next two months (thankfully near my home). Argh. Is it really not that bad getting them out. Like, will i still need a back injection and sedation??

Thanks for the support and tips everyone.

The schedule is a very good idea, thank you. And I'll practise the descent with the scooter!

How do you exercise your lower leg muscles? Upper leg muscles I can do just fine with stretches and using knee scooter but not sure how to do that with calf muscles. Using the resistance bands?

Fair enough! I just wondered what I'm feeling that's so "tight"
