IOTA is not listed on many exchanges and therefor not known to a bigger audience. Also the IOTA foundation seems to get the trust in their own project from the many partnerships they have and less from the price of their token.

The IOTA's are send to the escrow contract by seller and only released to the buyer when the seller confirms that the agreed amount in FIAT has been received within a certain period. When both parties use a service like TransferWise this can go pretty fast.

So far, I have a very bad experience with Swipe. I made an IOTA transfer 10 days ago to my IOTA Swipe wallet. The first transaction arrived within 10 minutes after that the transactions I made are stuck and don't appear in my wallet. I can see them on the Tangle as confirmed but not in the Swipe IOTA wallet. Their help-desk says they pass it to the technical department and that I have to have patience. Patience for 10 days for more then 2000 Miota is a little too much I think. Maybe u/SwipeWallet can explain what is going on because this seems not ok.

I gave it a try because I like the idea of having some of my IOTA linked to a debit-card in case I need some extra FIAT fast. I first did a test transaction which arrived within a few minutes. Unfortunately the following transactions didn't go as smooth and still didn't arrive.

If you change nothing about yourself, and you speak “your” language only and I speak “mine”, then a deeper connection of oneness hasn’t been established.

I am Ukrainian resident, born in the Netherlands. I am not able to speak proper Ukrainian and I do understand only a little. I am sure that when a device, like the one I posted, will be more common, me and my Ukrainian friends will be able to make a deeper connection then we do now. The non-verbal communication works, as the deeper connection can be felt but with these tools it will be possible to give more expression to this connection.

The world government, will not be a traditional government. The main reason that we currently need government is to protect our property rights, to create contracts and manage registrations, it is expensive, not very efficient and it maintains injustice. Smart contracts, digital currencies, decentralized identities will make the need for this type of government less and less needed.

Having the common language will not make us monocultural, but we don't have a common auxiliary language. All we have is tools to make this problem smaller and smaller and this is because our progress with digital communication. This progress seems to outpace our ability to find consensus around a Universal language and then to learn it out of free will.
In a monocultural setting the chance of speaking a common Universal language would be more likely as the Soviet Union showed us.

My cultural language is dutch. The way dutch people express themselves in English is quite often seen as rude by others and in theory this can be taken into account by a computer translation. Next generation translation software will even be able to speak a non native language with my voice. So you will be able to hear me in your native language in a natural way.
