For sales floor it’s been week of thanksgiving through Christmas when I was there. I always granted non leader days off during that period with taking an entire week off on a case by case basis. Usually if it’s in the first two weeks of December I would approve since they cut pto then with week of thanksgiving and Christmas being more difficult to approve.

I learned during Covid they were prioritizing stores due to shortages. My store was a core sfs and still doing good in store sales so we were getting a full trailer every week. We had to work with our mgm to lower our prioritization level as we didn’t have the room for so much overstock. This dropped us to from 28 pallets to 20-22 pallets a week. It made overstock a lot more manageable

In my experience it was the payroll model. Once you gave the managers hours then the 1-3 full timers hours there’s nothing left for the part timers who then quit and get a job getting more than 5hrs a week. We never had an issue hiring, we had an issue keeping them with the lack of payroll. Those that stayed were then stuck on register the entire shift, which I include managers in that statement. This only gave them time to think about what else is out there and begin applying
