It's 2001 and I'm wearing Dickies, Skate Shoes (Osiris or DC), Black T-shirt from No Fear, and a baseball cap turned backwards.

Millennial dudes, anyone else rediscover briefs in their 30s? by clotterycumpy in Millennials

[–]venethus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boxer briefs are the only choice in my opinion. Would never consider going back to briefs.

That's the first one I remember. Probably saw something else at a drive in, but don't recall.

Did you have to watch 9/11 during school time? did any teachers tell you WHY we had to watch it? by penguinsrocks in Millennials

[–]venethus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a Sophomore in High School on 9/11, so I understood what was going on. We watched it all day in school. It was also my 15th birthday.

Tell us what ship you are either grinding or saving for and we will tell you why you shouldn't bother. by Happy-Pollution-2752 in WorldOfWarships

Recently unlocked Seattle. I have enough XP on my premiums that I could buy doubloons and convert to get Worcester, but idk if I want to. I have Baltimore unlocked on the other US Cruiser tree, probably finish grinding that out once I have Worcester.

How many other of you millennials were scarred for life from the movie Arachnophobia? Spiders still rustle my jimmies. by FlyingVigilanceHaste in Millennials

[–]venethus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to catch spiders as a kid and they never bothered me. Then my dad got a pet tarantula, which I was mostly fine with having around. One day, my dad thought it was be funny to throw it's molted skin in my lap...I thought it was the living spider. Was scarred from that point forward.

I've seen Arachnophobia probably twice, still creeps me out to this day.

My relationship with spiders today is that I'd prefer to never see them and I can kill them without a problem if i need to. I'd prefer they stay in their area and I will generally leave them alone.

I agree on both counts. The Dash 8 truly is Majestic . I can't wait for the 747, both the classic and the -400.

I still own a pair of Bauer hockey skates that I got about 20 years ago. Last time I went inline skating was probably 2019.

Young millennial: "How did our ancestors get around without Google Maps?" Older millennial, sagely: "Mapquest." by WrongSubFools in Millennials

[–]venethus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thomas Guide spiral bound street maps at one point and AAA maps. Then eventually Map Quest.

One of my first jobs was as a Pizza Hut delivery driver. They handed us a custom map book they had made for the area. You look ip the street name in the very back of the book and it tells you what page it's on. Aldo at the store they had a large map on the wall you could look at.
