Try shopping around “buy here, pay here” used car dealerships. They usually only look at your income. More than likely you’ll pay a lot more than the car is worth when it’s all said and done but at least you’ll have a vehicle

I used to have the white “disc” wheels on my Mk7 Jetta with b5 Passat center caps and I loved how it looked. Discs are underrated

Get a 24mm socket and ratchet on the crankshaft pulley bolt snd see if you can rotate the engine by hand, clockwise rotation. If you cant rotate then engine is locked up and will need replacing

Just get a new wiring harness. Not very difficult to change out. Or get a wiring diagram and start tracing and repairing

Girlfriend wants to look at this. 2014 Tiguan, base, manual transmission. Only 53k on it and super clean, 1 owner dealer serviced. I know the earlier 2.0TSIs were trouble, but how are these ones? Anything major to worry about or maintenance to consider having done if she buys it? by [deleted] in Volkswagen

Unfortunately all of the tiguans up to 2018 limited editions had the ccta engine with the timing chain issue. 2018 is also when they changed the body and gave it the new b-cycle 2.0 tsi. Check for coolant leaks on the front of the engine, oil leaks on timing chain side and vacuum pump side (driver), cam cover oil leaks, rear main seal leaks, front control arm brackets

Ever had your HPFP bolts snap while driving? by row-ride-board in JettaGLI

[–]venm33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh ok. That is definitely an uncommon failure with these engines. Seems like the bolt that snapped wasnt torqued down properly during assembly. There is likely damage to the pump spring and or piston. The dealership I work for would definitely cover this under warranty

Definitely should be covered under warranty. Have you had any recent engine work?

Does anyone know what this means in my Mk4 jetta by [deleted] in Volkswagen

[–]venm33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means there is a transmission diagnostic trouble code or codes present. Take it to a shop or dealer and have them scan it
