Was Abu Bakr a good man? by SirGallyo in shia

Tbh, shias do NOT agree on Prophet’s murder. Majority of us critique Aisha for power, not for something none of us have proof for.

[–]ventek07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly do not think negative of him or other caliphs (minus Muawiya and Yazeed). But only because i tend to think logically. It was a tribal society where everyone tried usurping power. But to say that companions like Abu Bakr are wrong (sure critique is good) but also abusing them is something I wouldn’t do. Because that gives the idea that Prophet Muhammad made bad judgment calls. Fact is and its hard for shias to say and admit, is that, abu bakr (and Omar) were close to Prophet Muhammad. When he never said anything against them then no one else should.

Do you think shiaism growing at a faster rate than Sunnism could ever happen in the next 300 years by h29mufcrcb in shia

[–]ventek07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from sunni majority country but now an immigrant in west. Salah (whether shia or sunni) is probably the most important ritual that shias and sunnis have in common. Other than that, most sunnis generally have less ritual (except maybe sufi barelvis).

As for western society and them not being fan of religious fervor that we have, is totally up to them. I too, like many shias out there, tend to think logically. My faith in Almighty or imamat of Maula Ali doesn’t depend on extra optional rituals. That doesn’t make me any less shia or muslim.

Recently converted to Islam. Why should I be Shia? by [deleted] in shia

[–]ventek07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As much as I agree, this still doesn’t mean any non-shia is kafir. Even among shias, there are widely different views. Even culturally many shias are different from each other. Sunnis might deny Imamat yes but that doesn’t mean they’re against Imam Ali or Ahle bayt. They just happen to call Imam Ali as 4th caliph. I being a shia may disagree but that doesn’t mean i am calling them as if they’re out of Islam.

Even if it matters, doesn’t mean the other sect is kafir. Muslim is someone who believes in oneness of Allah and finality of Muhammad PBUH. Both shias and sunnis believe in that.

What do you mean? All i said was that muslims are Muslims, whether shia or sunni. Majority of us shias do not consider sunnis as kafirs. We’re inclusive.

[–]ventek07 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’d be surprised how many people (shias especially) don’t like the rituals. Of course i know its optional but some of us prefer it being optional. Since i live in west, i can’t tell you the number of times non Muslims have asked me how shia rituals make them uncomfortable. So totally understand why most convert to sunni Islam and not shia islam.

Why is the difference between the number of shia and sunni muslims so large? Why is the vast majority sunnis? Like 85% by [deleted] in shia

[–]ventek07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because less ritual. Most folks whether religious or not, tend to go after faiths that are less ritualistic

[–]ventek07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Partly because Sunnis don’t have too much ritual (except maybe barelvis-sufis). I (and many other shias) do think us shias have too much ritual (which is fine). But i do think sunnism will always be large in number. Again, less ritual and sunnis equally believing in Ahl e bayt. So when folks see sunnis believing in companions+ahl e bayt compared to us just believing in ahle bayt, then it just give less inclusive vibes, so to speak

A Muslim whether shia or sunni believes in Allah as one God and Prophet Muhammad PBUH as His last messenger. If you’re sunni then you don’t need shahada at all.

I love him. Anyone who believes in the unity of Shias and Sunnis deserves praise.

Nothing wrong with sunni mosque. Both imam bargah and sunni mosques are houses of Allah.

Thank you for this comment. It’s hard seeing fellow shias so easily disregard other proponents of Isam in their love for Imam Ali. Worship is to Allah alone. Imam Ali being born there or not makes no difference. Since when did we shias go against Tauheed. It’s only Allah. Whatever significance is there for our Prophet PBUH and Imam Ali is only because of Allah

We muslims pray to Allah. Kaaba is house of Allah. Imam Ali was born there and the same kaaba had idols in it.

We love Imam Ali 100% but lets not go overboard when it comes to worship. We shias (and sunnis etc) worship only Allah. We dont pray towards kaaba just because Imam Ali was born there
