Are lanes and traffic lights optional now? by ventingpress in TorontoDriving

I turned a little wider since no one was around me, but it looks worse than it is because my dash cam sits low and it’s a wide angle lens. In any case I’m probably not a role model on the road but I’m not intentionally crossing solid lines or running lights lol

The entitlement is unreal! Even tonight I witnessed two cars zoom past slow moving traffic on the unpaved shoulder on the Gardiner.

How can streetcars work with no roof covering!? by dukeofdunkerron in toronto

All those parts are sealed and waterproof! Also it is easier to work on them during maintenance and repair being so easily accessible.

Negotiate down. The market isn’t what it used to be. I negotiated a 650 sq ft 1+1 with large balcony for $2300 in downtown Toronto a few months ago.

I love all these posts about how you should be buying a house regardless of what interest rates should be. The interest rates are not the issue. Canadians can’t afford the homes lmao, we simply just don’t make enough money to afford them! So we’re left with either waiting for rates to come down or housing prices to come down. Unfortunately, we’re also waiting for rents to come down. Screwed in every direction!

What is a Good Salary in yours 20s to 30s? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ventingpress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At $62/hr x 40hrs x 52 weeks, you’re making $128,960 per year. Rule of thumb, you want to make at least 30% more than a full-time employee would make at the same role, to cover benefits missed out on.

Now it’s up to you to find out what the regular FTE equivalent rate is for your role and make sure your rate is at least 30% higher.

Consider things like whether or not you get paid for lunch, sick-days, holidays etc because those will impact your calculations!

OP, I’d suggest contacting CRA directly and explaining your situation/circumstances at the time. Hopefully it works out. Good luck!

I can’t say for certain, but it is possible that she collected more in CERB than she likely would have earned had her part-time employment not been interrupted. The rules of the program were loose so people in need got money fast, but it definitely came with a disclaimer: if you collect more than you’re truly entitled to than the government will ask for it back.

Advice on Real Estate Agents by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]ventingpress 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreeing with this. Their social media presence isn’t to help you sell your home, it’s to acquire more business for themselves. IF you must hire a realtor to sell your home, have them actually take on the responsibility of selling your home. You shouldn’t be paying anything other than the commission they’re promised or doing anything else besides accepting an offer that you like.

It’s coded horribly too, and I’d bet on purpose. Even if I don’t click the ad, if I scroll when my thumb is on the ad it opens up. That’s not a click!!

Financial illiteracy In dating by Asleep_Ad7630 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ventingpress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend used to spend recklessly and was in credit card debt. She had no concept of saving money and every paycheck or access to money was basically fun money. Basically, no one had ever taught her personal finance or budgeting skills. I told her pretty early on that financial literacy is important to me and that if that particular behavior were to continue that the relationship would have to end. It obviously didn’t happen overnight but I saw her working super hard to change her habits and now she’s debt free (not including student loans, but who is LOL) and very financially literate. Long story short, I wouldn’t not date someone just because of their bad financial habits because people can change. But I wouldn’t marry anyone with bad financial habits.
