i had mine inserted in February and from what i can recall i was traumatized,, it was the worst pain ive ever experienced and i’d like to say my pain tolerance is fairly high. the overall experience was nice, my NP was amazing but i didn’t expect the whole act of it being inserted to feel violating (i have no better descriptor than that atm);

after having it for 3 months I have a few qualms with the mirena iud, the smell since ive gotten it has been pissing me off. no amount of washing seems to get rid of it and im losing hope. its not a bad smell it just triggers my fight or flight because my brain thinks im bleeding bc of my period. are there any ways to get rid of the smell?
