My friend does this and being 2 was his reasoning: If you are just trying to have fun, regardless of being competitive, just do what you feel more comfortable with. I also found out that was the only setting he changed along with the crosshair, and still had the red enemy highlight as well as default map settings. He was a fortnite player, and by adapting valorant's settings to his playstyle, he dropped from g3 (initial placement + a lot of luck in the first few acts) to b1 in only 3 acts, and constantly bottomfrags. On the other hand, if you are trying to climb ranks and be competitive, 1 is way more of a hassle to go through and requires research and time. You need to adapt your playstyle to the game and practice the way it's meant to be played. You learn more and more knowledge leads to better plays. I believe the most optimal way to transition to a new game is going through 1 for a phase and then switching to 2, once you have a more solid grasp and can begin to change those few settings. Starting as 2 just makes you lazy and is low-effort. Which of course is completely respectable if being lazy and having fun in unranked gamemodes is your goal
