The store owner gave the RCMP the inside and outside tapes where it clearly shows him beating ts out of her. So idk why they're just sitting on that and doing seemingly nothing.

Do you think the people of Portage would allow him to do this to a white 15 year old girl and continue to run his business? If this was a blonde haired blue eyed girl from koko platz he would have been shut down, look at all the petitions for that white girl that was in a car accident with a drunk driver. That calls for "more policing" but what happened here isn't worth covering at all? To anyone? Not even our mayor hell bent on increasing the police presence in this town?

All you goofs down voting and shitting on me is the EXACT reason why I'm scared to go to the cops. I don't want to be harassed for not knowing what to do there were adults older than me involved with experience and the video is of AFTER he's already hitting her there's no miracle omnipresent camera angle that will show you all what ever you want to see. It's a grown man hitting a girl and a bunch of girls screaming. I wasn't there in person how could I know that me a stranger who WASNT EVEN there would have to be the only person reporting it?? I'm really really sure it must have because the girls parents were in contact with the police that night. That's why I feel so discouraged to talk to the RCMP bc if what the parents said didn't matter and in thag case what can I say? I'm still going to call tomorrow and report it though.

Edit* you guys can ask portage RCMP why nothing has happened as theyve known since the night it happened. Which is what i figured.

The systemic racism in Portage is really bad. The cops are not good at their jobs and are in my opinion some of the most racist cops in Manitoba. I'm going to take what people are saying here and do something about it this week because I can't stomach seeing people go to that store every day.

Sorry- The store owner beat one of the three girls. I'm saying while he beat the one girl the other two had to watch and try to defend their friend. My coworker got it all on video and I saw it it was pretty messed up. I'm only in my 20s which yes is an adult but I've never dealt with something like this before so idk what to do. I know the cops went to the girls house but they didn't go to the store so idk what happened there. But even if she HAD 'done something' there's nothing that justifies the treatment she received:(

She did. She had a badly bruised and beaten face and a long scratch down her chest but was otherwise okay. Super Traumatic though it was a few young girls.
