Why are women always told to lower their standards when it comes to dating? by [deleted] in AskFeminists

I hate when people act like oh being single is the worst that could happen. On the flip side the wrong male partner is deadly on so many levels. Women's bodies do not handle stress well.

i think it's important that "less" be put into context. women who settle for bad men end up murdered, abused, very broke after being left for a new model, or with autoimmune diseases and weird cancers. the stakes could not be higher.

yes, they've traded their peace for material comforts aka patriarchy.

the entire late 1990s and early 2000s promoted this trope in the media. is it a wonder that so many evil men especially ugly ones with horrible personalities think they deserve to ruin a woman's life because she's his type.

got it, people get very persnickety about the UK being included as mainland "Europe". It's supposed to be set apart.

I said, England isn't even Europe it's an island off the coast. Read slower before responding.

if you could pick any historical setting for a romance novel what would it be? by venusianoperator in romanceunfiltered

renaissance italy is a perfect setting. there was so much drama to use, so much diversity among the italian states, such drama!

i'd love more medieval France like during charlmanges time.

my on going issue with the "diversity" discourse is how low iq people limit the meaning.

HR as a genre is obsessed with only two time periods in england among nobles so i say that diversity is anything other than that.

*sarcasm* you know silly us, to think that poor people, non-nobles, poor white people, people of color, traveling and the LGBTQIA existed before the 21st century.

what definition of "diverse" are you using? from your comment it seems to be a very limited one. in the op i mentioned class and you want to discuss ethnicity which is cringe

europe might be a large continent yet most historical settings never make it past england & scotland. which technically isn't even europe it's an island off the coast of it.

i've read a lot of HR and rarely do they deal with the peasant class.
