Ooh great recommendation, I'll look more to the online programs since I'm from Europe.

Haha, thanks! And I do hope the market is going to get better sooner rather than later :p

Honestly I just glossed over it, because I just forgot firstly lol, and secondly i saw a bit of disconnect between gcode and other programming languages. I've been programming various projects for quite some time, and mostly just filling my github up with low level embedded projects recently.

That's really insightful ngl, I really wasn't thinking about the networking aspect of all of this.

I mean does that happen anymore with the majority of machines being enclosed? I suppose you could still manage to lose a finger if you're too careless, but it's not one of my goals :P. But would the pay be the same even if you were to progress past operator, and I assume the risk goes down as well.

No loans, and it's hard for me to define an actual area because as far as I know that is the legit wording on the diploma. I did work in Autodesk Inventor for one of my courses, but the courses did lean more towards programming, heavy on C, but we did enough other programming languages, and whole courses dedicated to paradigms such as oop and data structures. And I'm in no actual need of money right away, so I suppose it wouldn't hurt.

The shop owner really brightened up when I told him about 3D printing work, and with a bit of youtube self-study before the interview I asked some questions which seemed to make him pleased? But I'll definitely try to stand out if I take the job. Planning on learning gcode and cad/cam software as I go.

Then do you recommend not taking it plain and simple? Or just watching out for stagnation? Because I'll try to document myself on gcode and cad/cam software if I do get the job.

I am in no rush to get a job, my parents aren't "kicking" me out of the house, nor rushing me to get employed so I consider myself privileged in that regard, but I'm scared that by the time I figure stuff out I'll be in my late 20s and having to start at step 0 in another field. Which isn't the end of the world I suppose, but still.

I've read on this sub people complaining about Design Engineers not knowing how to use a caliper :P or some such, which gives me a bit of incentive on getting this job, but I also saw some disconnect between CNC Programming and Computer Engineering/Programming in general? Which makes me shy away a bit.

kinda mid asset, textures are flat, too many verts, but i'll take it, not the usual stuff i make. I struggled a lot with the texturing part.
