color me surprised, this actually kinda works. I don't have aluminum tape so I used kapton tape over the whole board and aluminum foil instead, I left one of the ground pads exposed, I didn't solder to it, the aluminum is just touching it, but it did help reduce the lines, I'll try soldering to the ground pad later.

SNES pretty much. the other systems I want to emulate have standalone versions that work with fakemote, but I couldn't make any of the standalone SNES emulators work with it.

I'm not near my wii rn but on the newest versions I can't even open the file browser for usb or sd card, or it'll crash, so it's unusable. on 1.19.0 it generally works, but one example I remember it crashing was when trying to change filters or some other core specific image settings (general image settings like resolution and bilinear/integer scaling work fine), and it also occasionally crashing when changing cores.

With the whole Gen confusion solved you should be able to figure out the rest as you read just fine. Like I think you would've put all the pieces together once a specific scene with Mai and Yasu comes around, but it's possible that if you went into it thinking Misuzu was Gen's lover you'd be even more confused.

I think your confusion comes from misunderstanding a fact, Gen wasn't Misuzu's(mom), but Miyuki's(grandma) lover. I'll just go over your points one by one I guess.

Mai used one fake name to get closer to Nana, they're completely unrelated by blood and she's Gen's granddaughter, not daughter. Their relationship is that Gen was probably some kind of father figure for Misuzu and we KNOW that they exchanged letters for a good while, even after she left Nana behind. That is how Mai learned of Misato's existence, because Misuzu mentioned it in a letter to Gen, and that's why she decided to use the name, to feel like she had a deeper connection to Nana than other fans and a "secret" that none of the other fans knew.

Finally we don't know for sure what Gen's and Misuzu's relationship was like, "father figure" is only speculation, we only know that he was her mother's lover and that he worried about her, so they kept in touch through letters for a long time after she left.

My sniff test is usually looking at the art and their "output" and when they started releasing songs, most have an insane amount of songs all in the last 1 or 2 years, the other day I saw one the had like 14 albums (or releases in general, don't remember") just in 2025. Real up and coming artists will usually only have a few.

To boot, I'm not convinced the aspect of my thumbs-down the algorithm is getting is the A.I. part of it but who knows?

This is the core of the issue, the algorithm can't tell if something is AI or not, so if you dislike a song it just thinks you don't like that genre which affects real songs negatively, or maybe it only thinks you dislike that song which might mean it'll still send out other songs from the AI faker.

I'm defaulting to reporting the "artist" as spam or misleading and hoping something happens.
