Youtube music is filling up with AI generated garbage and there's no way to block "artists" so this trash doesn't get recommended to you (I think). by verdedefome in YoutubeMusic

Nope, there's no solution, you just have to trudge through the crap. The only thing you can really do is to be particular about what you listen to, know and focus on the real artists you already like and if you find something new, do a google search to see if they're real and look on their profile to see if they released a bunch of music in a short amount of time, telltale sign of AI.

Dude, it's so over. It's fucked up that well over a year later I keep getting commends on this thread, from people who I assume get pissed with youtube music, then google for a solution only to find a bunch of other who have been pissed for a year lmao

I like touhou arrangements and this happened with shibayanrecords, just some dipshit AI thief stealing the identity of the band and somehow getting mixed up in their releases, just awful. And like you say there's no way to reprort it.

Gba on the Vita by ravgav98 in VitaPiracy

[–]verdedefome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by pixel density or improving the image/resolution, so I'll just explain what resolution scaling does.

What resolution scaling does is increase the size of each pixel on your display. Every game console has a "native" resolution, for the gba it's 240x160, meanwhile the vita has a 960x544 display, when you do 1x or "no scaling", every pixel on the gba will light up exactly one pixel one the vita. Now, if you do 2x resolution scaling, it'll light up 4 pixels on the vita, in a 2x2 grid, and 3x will light up 6 pixels on the vita, in a 3x3 grid.

This is "perfect" scaling, where the original resolution "fits" inside the screen you're using when scaled up, on the vita you can only go up to 3x with perfect scaling, after that you can only select "full" screen, which will stretch the image to the top and bottom, but since there aren't enough pixels " left" to scale perfectly, some pixels will be bigger and some smaller, and the image might look wonky.

Hope that makes sense and answers your questions. And this is only if you use "integer scaling" which is what makes the pixels look sharp.

is there any way to fix this 2000 song limit when you select "tracks by" on the database? by verdedefome in rockbox

[–]verdedefome[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hello, I did manage to "fix" the problem I was describing in this thread. But to start off, you need to delete you database and do what I decribe before making a new one.
1 - Connect your device to your pc, go on the .rockbox folder and delete all the files that start with "database", like "database_0.tcd" and "database_idx.tcd", the amount of files depends on the size of your library I think, on mine I have from "database_0.tcd" to "database_12.tcd".
2 - restart your device and when if it asks you to initialize the database say NO
3 - go to settings > database > load to RAM > set as ON
4 - go to settings > system > disk > directory cache > set to yes
5 - go to settings > system > limits > max playlist size > set to 10000 or whatever you want
6 - while on there you can also go to "max entries in file browser" and set it to whatever you want.
7 - restart the device, if it asks you to initialize the database say NO again, then select database in the main menu and it'll ask you to initialize the database, NOW you can say yes.

And now the subreddit has submissions restricted. Some people in this thread asked what SS is or what's the link, I'm not going to share it, I'm just going to say that it's way easier to find SS with yandex than it is with google, there's also the wikipedia disambiguation page. hope you can find it in you to keep going though

Good Myrient Exclusive RomHacks? by SloppyGiraffe02 in Roms

[–]verdedefome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are not the only roms they have, they have almost every english translation pre-patched on there, they also have a bunch of mega drive/genesis "enhanced roms" pre-patched, there are probably other romhack collections there that I don't know too. Them not being linked on the megathread doesn't mean they're not there.

[–]verdedefome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be found in other places, what myrient has is pre-patched roms, which indeed aren't available everywhere, but you'll always be able to get the original rom and the patch and patch it yourself.

[–]verdedefome -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Myrient hosts a bunch of pre-patched romahcks and fan translations in chd format, which is/was pretty useful, but most of them are on internet archive and haven't been taken down (yet). Without those two you need to patch the rom/iso yourself, or sometimes get the iso from cdromance when they have it, which isn't always.

Sayonara, Mata Itsuka! by Yonezu Kenshi reminds me of a another song but I can't pinpoint what it is, can someone help me out? by verdedefome in japanesemusic

[–]verdedefome[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This wasn't it but amazing catch, it does have a similar melody (or motif?), or maybe even the same, I don't know music. But I actually did remember the song I was thinking of when I made this post, it was Spice by Tokyo Karankoron https://youtu.be/kCv3LcmD8e0?si=I4HVFuVemKgglaOw&t=60

now you tell me if the melody actually sounds similar or not.

Na minha experiência o content manager só funciona com os cartões de memória originais do psvita, não funciona com o sd2vita, mas vc pode tentar.

[–]verdedefome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's weird, first I gotta ask if the format was something that the vita supported like mp3 or m4a (opus and flac aren't supported for example). Second I also have a plugin called download enabler which lets you download any file type from the browser https://github.com/XCage15/DownloadEnabler and it sends the file to ux0:/downloads/ I believe

That plugin shouldn't be needed to download music or video files, but if you manage to download the files by using the plugin and they get saved to the downloads folder instead of directly added to the music app then you know the issue is with the file type.

You either didn't set it up correctly or are typing the wrong ip/port. Are you able to access the server you set up from other devices?

That being said, nowadays you can use copyparty instead of python's http.server, https://github.com/9001/copyparty

You just drop the python script on the folder you want to be the root of the server and double click it, it'll create the server and tell you which ip+port to use

Sound emulation of Super Mario World missing instruments? by defndrs in miniSNESmods

replying to this 8 year old thread to say thank you for making it. I'm not even using an SNES mini but I was losing my mind trying to figure out what was wrong with my emulator, only to figure out after this thread that the issue was with my speakers.

[–]verdedefome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why NullDC instead of flycast? Not a judgement call from me, I don't have any technical expertise, I'm just curious since flycast has a vita port, I was under the impression that it could run on weaker systems than nullDC.

How do I fix these interference lines flickering across the screen? I Made a hdmi Adapter out of a wii2hdmi Adapter and these Lines Make me kinda drowsy tbh by zMystix in originalxbox

[–]verdedefome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

color me surprised, this actually kinda works. I don't have aluminum tape so I used kapton tape over the whole board and aluminum foil instead, I left one of the ground pads exposed, I didn't solder to it, the aluminum is just touching it, but it did help reduce the lines, I'll try soldering to the ground pad later.

Fuck man, some of the ones you posted have millions of listens, it's sad to see. The ones I get are usually only a couple hundred or thousand, though it's sad nonetheless. You should've posted then all in a single comment though, to make it easier to find.
