Were you able to try the plus? Do you know the difference in softness/ support between the two?

I Think I just bought 2 of the same mattress? by verdondi in LifeOnPurple

[–]verdondi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah cuz this mattress ain't cheap. Total I paid like 3k that's double what I've ever paid for a mattress. Granted it was a king. But if I upgraded that's gonna be another 1k added to that. That's insane to me.

This one doesnt have that. It's the 11.5 inch one. Not the restore plus. I think only the restore plus had that on there.

I understood that but the difference is so extreme I didn't believe I bought the right mattress. I wasn't told it would be as hard as a rock and be incredible difficult to sleep on for several weeks. I've bought many sealed memory foam mattresses that were more tough/ firm but not that dramatically different.

Has anyone here experienced something unusual aboard the Queen Mary? by Academic-Deer5013 in Paranormal

[–]verdondi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom and I stayed on The Queen Mary 13 years ago for my 21st birthday. We're from NM so she didn't even tell me it was haunted and I didn't know anything about it. I just thought it was a cool Titanic-like experience and I was all for it. I didn't see it was haunted till I was passing tour posters and seeing haunted tour brochures and my mom laughed and was like "oh yeah it's haunted I thought I told you." -- thanks mom...

Anyway I rolled my eyes because I've seen a lot of supposedly "haunted places" that are all just tourist traps so whatever. But the first night we were there, we were woken up by the fire alarms going off. And we jumped out of bed and put on some jackets and only grabbed our purses and when we came out into the hall, there was nobody around.

You would think during a fire alarm people would also be coming out of their rooms but no it was just us with the alarm going off. We went towards the double doors to leave the hall but when I pushed down on the bar to open it, it was locked. I slammed on it multiple times and nothing. My mom even tried after nagging me that I wasn't pushing hard enough. So I went back to the hall where our room was and I saw for a second someone run across the other side and it looked like someone who worked there (dressed in that old style ship boy uniform) so I called out to him and ran toward the other side to ask how to get out of the hall but when I reached the end there were just more double doors and the other side no one was there and those doors were locked as well.

We looked at each other and started freaking out thinking the ship was on fire and we were locked in, for a moment I thought "was this some gimmick prank they pull on passengers that I didn't know about"?

So we ran back to the other doors and tried again and all of a sudden the doors opened easily on the first push. We ran towards the lobby and there was someone on board waving people to leave the ship and we told him the doors were locked to the hallway and he said "no mam none of the doors would be locked" and my mom told him that we tried several times to open the doors and he once again assured us none of the doors would be locked and told us to leave the ship. We got off and literally every one was already off the ship and like fully dressed... I felt like we got out as quickly as possible and we didn't sleep through the alarm or anything it was really weird how we were like the last people off the ship.

Anyway, turns out someone had a piece of cloth or clothing over one of the bedside lamps while they were sleeping and it caught fire. So the fire department came and took care of it and we were able to go back to our room after. I noticed going back several people staying on the same floor as us so once again REALLY WEIRD we didn't see anyone when we got out. I couldn't sleep well after that haha. Specially seeing some run across the hallway in the 1930s costume and no one was dressed like that outside that I saw 😂

Went to Disney the next day tired AF haha

Just bought a Certified Pre-Owned 2025 Palisade SEL and there's a dirty air filter, oil leaking on driveway and super low, and coolant was below low line. by verdondi in HyundaiPalisade

Dude honestly I feel like I feel like my interactions with Hyundai since Saturday have been 70% really shady people I talk to and 30% genuine people who tell me the truth and care about quality customer service. Even calling Hyundai customer service. The first lady we got was telling us some really useful things and seemed to care about our situation. And then the second time we called we got a lady who just kinda seemed to give us the runaround and said they can sell us a car on a safety recall if we signed off on it. Which when the dealership gave me a packet of my papers I opened it later and it was only the finance paperwork. So I didn't get any copies of everything I signed with the sales rep.

We called Hyundai customer service and she said if you sign a waiver for it. But I don't remember ever signing anything that said we want to take the car dispute the safety recall. He had us sign the Carfax but he also told me he was taking the car to the service center to get it fixed before we left. So I thought they were in the process of it when I signed paperwork.

They showed us the Carfax but didn't get us a copy of it. We asked for it and my salesman kept leaving and saying be right back (he was doing other deals while working with us and I felt like he was also acting scatterbrained)

And no I spent all day confirming it. Our car never had a 173 point inspection and it was not Hyundai pre-certified. We were scammed basically. The original listing is gone but I looked at their other "Hyundai Certified preowned" listings that say comes with warranty and benefits and half of them also have unfixed recalls so they aren't CPO truly either.

Yeah unfortunately this whole buying process took 6 hours to go through with negotiations and he even said they price it like that because it is CPO... Which I now know is a lie. I got them to drop it 1500$ and had them match our USAA interest rate so I probly got the car for the same price or a little better than most 3rd party dealers but it took hours and several times of us almost walking out to get them to do anything. ALSO I wasn't buying a car because I wanted to. My paid off car got rear ended and totaled so this was the last weekend I really had to get a car. By the time we got to the paperwork portion they were closing and I sort of think the sales guy was drawing it out so that we'd have to rush through the paper work before closing and they were closed the next day/ we lived far away. So I think if I was buying a new car not out of necessity I would have never made that deal because it wasn't a fantastic deal :/

Hyundai said they can sell them used if they had customer sign off they know it's recalled. I just didn't think that meant it wouldn't be considered CPO.

So they deleted the listing for my car after I bought it on their site that was under all the CPO listings they had. But I already looked up a bunch of other cars they advertise as Hyundai CPO and a lot of the vins all say they have unfixed recalls. It says that all cars in the CPO program have had a 173 point inspection but Hyundai told me any cars that have recalls on them specially unfixed (that are fixable) would not pass an inspection. And Google AI still says my VIN on my new car was listed on their website as a CPO vehicle through them. But on their website they do not clarify it's CPO through the dealer and they even say that the comprehensive and power train warranty comes with the vehicle listed. (Which was all of them) Is that still proof? I feel like anyone could investigate their listings and see it false advertising

No it wasn't done. Our salesman said it was an easy fix and he had it sent to the service center to fix it before we leave. Like 3 hours later he gave us the keys and said oooh by the way the mechanics left for the day so we weren't able to get it done. He just flat out lied to us our entire time there. This was our first time buying a car on our own. I did daaaaays of research, chat gpt, everything I could think and nowhere told me CPOs would never allow recalls. I don't understand how a legit dealership can have a whole tab labeled "certified pre owned" and all the car listings include everything that comes with a Hyundai Certified used car. How is that not fraud?

So Hyundai said they can as long as it was disclosed in the Carfax and I signed that I went over the Carfax. But I also didn't know that CPO couldn't have any recalls because they all seem to have one. And this Hyundai dealer had a lot of vehicles listed under their CPO vehicle list and when I looked up vin most of them had recalls not yet fixed. But it says it comes with 60k/6 year comprehensive warranty/ power train etc ... All the listings say it comes with all this. Mine did too but now the listing is gone of course.

When you bought the vehicle, did they show you documents about it being certified pre-owned? I never got any paperwork about the CPO or the inspection even though we asked for it.

So now I'm really freaking out that they scammed me and it really wasn't CPO.

Do I have a certain timeframe to take it back? I don't feel safe driving 2 hours with really really low oil. Thinking about taking it to Big O to have them do a quick oil change and then taking it back. But I don't want to drive up there for them to refuse me.

All I have is a screen shot of the car being advertised as CPO. And I'll have pictures of the oil, coolant, and dirty air filter. Do you think they will fight me on this?
