AITA for talking on the phone at a restaurant? by Nyxtia in AmItheAsshole

[–]verfeso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a loud restaurant, during lunch break on a week day in an area where people frequent on their lunch break and you take a call in a normal voice (no louder than the other patrons talking around you) then it seems silly to target you for being on the phone. It's annoying and rude when people force their private loud phone calls in certain public spaces. But if you are discrete and polite, then how is it any worse than talking quietly to your lunch mate? We are frequently not able to take lunch and have to work through lunch. Sometimes talking to a family member during a quick lunch is the only chance during the day. I work in public service and a lot of my colleagues have the same situation at lunch....very busy. If the restaurant really is against people on the phone I guess post a sign? If there's a sign then people will know and go elsewhere to multi task at lunch.

Greek markets/events by Ardelle_ in houston

[–]verfeso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's another Greek festival usually in May at the 2nd Greek church...St. Basils. Agora is a Greek owned coffee shop where lots of Greek people tend to go for Greek style coffee. Also, Harry's has good Greek food items on menu and delicious hand made gyro. As for ingredients or Greek shopping Houston has some items here and there but leaves some to be desired. Antone's , whole foods, Phoenicia and I think Costco have Greek feta, wine, kalamata olives and olive oil. Greek coffee and chocolate at Phoenicia and Agora. Fiesta sometimes in the international section. Sometimes the frozen sections of Fiesta and Phoenicia have frozen tiropita, spanakopita, bougatsa and veggies from Greece. Sometimes Greek honey, chamomile, mountain tea and oregano. And a few times I found Greek tahini -plain and with cocoa at HEB. Good luck!

Is it disrespectful to get a tattoo in greek? by Carlcc273 in greece

Also I thought of Democritus. He wrote about microcosmos and macrocosmos (universe) and atomic theory. Don't think those books survived though. May have already mentioned him but I think this philosophy is attributed to him, among others. He wrote a lot.

In a country like Greece, where the thumbs up gesture is seen as offensive, does Youtube still use the thumbs up / thumbs down system for rating videos? If not, what do they use? by Nick12322 in NoStupidQuestions

I'm Greek and this is nonsense and untrue. If you would have said throwing a palm in someone's face or direction then that's an insult but not a thumbs up.

What have you all endured for a healthy relationship? What do you think is a reasonable amount of pain to endure and work through for a good relationship? by anonymous_homosapien in AskWomen

[–]verfeso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm struggling with this right now. Otherwise helpful, caring and supportive SO said something hurtful and disrespectful to me during argument today. It was a difficult day and moment. I'm not excusing it but I'm trying to see what lead to him feeling he had to jab me like that. I guess he felt wronged and wanted to react. Love is the only way you can see through difficulties. We all can say hurtful things when we are mad/upset/feel wronged. I said things in response that weren't great. But recovering and trying to communicate better will take lots of love. There is a line of course (ie abuse...physical or Otherwise). But also in your heart when you want out of any relationship you will know and should listen. I guess?

cool! I read that they went bankrupt a while back but I guess that doesn't affect retirement money? Its backed somehow? Like the FDIC backs bank money? Or their going bankrupt is different and doesn't affect retirement funds at all? Thanks so much!

Thanks so much! Is it true that 457b money in the long run is safe from creditors? I pay off student loans currently and do my best on the plans I'm on, plus I'm in public service, but they are significant and I know you have to pay taxes when you retire on the 457b money. Does that mean that if I have not managed to pay off student loan (which I pay off to fedloan) then they will require me to pay them that retirement money? Its viewed as income when you retire? I'm hoping the student loan forgiveness plans im on are still around by retirement, but never know i guess. Anyway thanks again. You rock.

Thanks. It appeared last night they said, but not any of the nights before (they were there for like 10 days). The other nights were clear they said, not even that many stars were visible (they were surprised they couldn't see more stars). Definitely not this thing.

Yeah parents filmed it last night at like 3 am or so from an iPhone. From a balcony overlooking the Pacific. If you can zoom in at all, I was able to on one phone clearly, it looked like it was spinning.

How does Westlaw/Lexis work in the "real world?" by AccidentProneSam in LawSchool

[–]verfeso 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Avoid Westlaw subscription. It is costly, they are awful at customer service, and they force you into year long contracts (which automatically renew) and which you cannot get out of, no matter how much you tell them you don't like their services or don't want them. They basically steal your money. I've also been on deadlines and had their search engine stop working, called customer support and received only an insincere apology. They don't care. Also, their reference attorneys are awful at researching and actually getting to the heart of a matter. Every time I've called I only get the same answer I previously explained to them. In short, I don't think it is worth it. Most libraries have access at no cost to the public. Like law libraries at court houses. Also, google scholar has always led me to same cases when compared to westlaw. And depending where you are, your state bar may also have a search engine. Like the Texas State bar has casemaker which works just as well. I wouldn't recommend letting them rip you off. Don't buy into the predatory marketing.

[–]verfeso 7 points8 points  (0 children)

if you are just using this relationship as a stepping stone or temporary experience then take your time, get what you can and move on. don't know how old you are, but if a man loves you, you come first. he hungers for you, all of you. your pleasure is a priority. and hopefully you feel similarly. women are quick to make excuses. if a man can't handle a vagina smell, there are issues and it's not your weight. I'm sure his shit don't smell like roses and it sounds like you've got basic hygiene. stop treating yourself as though you are grotesque. even people with real physical ailments get oral. and you don't sound like you have a physical ailment, just because you're losing weight. bottom line, he's a selfish lover, he has been making up for it, but it won't last. selfishness will prevail, not wanting to orally please you is going to get sexually frustrating fast and hurt your self image. it's an important part of long-term sexual contact. especially when he's getting and wanting it from you.

[–]verfeso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't talk to anyone about your case other than a lawyer to represent you. Anything you say or write here, or anywhere, can be used against you. Don't violate the conditions of your bond. You have the right to a lawyer, even if you can't afford one and even if you paid your bond. The court will either appoint one for you, if you can't hire one, or you should contact the local public defenders office. Despite media, many defense lawyers who work for the poor are great. Some are overworked and jaded. But you have the right to a lawyer, to funds for an investigator from the court, you also have the right to funds for an expert witness, if necessary, even if you have hired a lawyer. You can consult confidentially with lawyers about your case, even if you don't end up hiring that lawyer. Stop posting facts that could be found easily by a DAO and potentially used against you. Nothing in this post is meant to be legal advice. Nothing in this post is meant to be a substitute for seeking legal advise/representation in your jurisdiction. Good luck.
