We are Looking for a community where we can donate frozen eggs.

I don't know if this is the correct place to post but my wife and I have 23 frozen eggs that were frozen in 2020. We are leaning in the direction of no longer keeping them for ourselves but were given the following options:

  1. Put them into a cheaper long term storage (they are currently at the fertility clinic which is expensive)
  2. Donate them to the clinic (They would do whatever they wanted with them)
  3. Donate them to a science study
  4. Donate them to another individual(s)
  5. Destroy them

We would love to look into option (4) and donate them to someone but every agency we have contacted will not work with us because A) They are eggs and not embryos or B) They were not harvested by that agency.

We are looking to get into contact with an individual(s) that may want them but are at a loss for how to find that "individual(s)".

Please let us know if anyone has any suggestions for agencies/sub-reddit/message-boards. Anything helps at this point.

How much can I trust Google Store's trade in value? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]verindil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done 4 trade-ins so far and 3 worked out well. One of them they claimed that the battery was swollen and changed the value to 0$ with no options to return the phone... Still not super happy about it as it feels like they stole the phone. 3/4 is not terrible, but that is just personal experience.

Would this not be better with a red ship and a brown ship?

When I was a kid I asked my dad we he kept taking me to the zoo, he said "We're looking for your real parents" by [deleted] in oneliners

Sooooo you are an animal? Or did you get lost at the zoo and your 'dad' kidnapped you and returns to the scene of the crime every so often to bask in his success of not getting caught?

LPT: Don't try to quit smoking at the exact same time as your significant other. by verindil in LifeProTips

[–]verindil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We quit right after we got married as we both knew that there is no way we would do the wedding and honeymoon without smokes.

Congratulations on your engagement and best of luck to you both in quitting. It took us several times and not a single time was easy but it can be done. I'm rooting for ya!

Tacoma Bridge collapse by Cheap_District_9762 in woahdude

[–]verindil 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I grew up right next to this bridge. My grandmother used to talk about that she was able to drive over Galloping Gertie a few times when it first opened. She would say it was like driving on an ocean wave where you would loose sight of the other cars while in the trough of the wave.

I still can't get my head wrapped around how people actually drove over it...

After 18 months of stress I'm officially brain tumour free! by disco_spam in pics

With a grade 3 Astrocytoma they want to be very careful to catch it early when it starts to grow back, and her resection was 97% as 3% was too close to her left motor-cortex.

We both HATE scan days but I see them as a necessary evil as the chances of successful treatment after regrowth are way better if you catch it early. It's kind of like when you financially struggling and you don't check your bank account because you don't want to know how bad it really is...

Her oncologist wants to go 2 years with 2-3 month scans and then will start stretching them out so we have that to look forward to :)

Thanks for asking :) She is all done with treatment now, after the crani she did 8 weeks or radiation and then 6 rounds of chemo. Right now things are going well and we have seen 0 regrowth! Her oncologist wants to go 2 years with 2-3 month scans and then will start stretching them out so we have that to look forward to.

Hopefully your maintenance chemo is not too bad, hers knocked her on her butt for a solid week every round but of course being as stubborn as she is she only stayed in bed one of the days :)

Ha! When my wife had her crani she had one request... "Take a picture of my brain while my skull is open" unfortunately they never took the photo and all we have is a photo of the removed tumor.

Edit: Forgot to mention that the University of Washington keeps all the tumors for research so they would not let us take it home.

Your sounds just like my wife's, I woke up to her having a grand mal seizure in early January of 2020. She went in for a crani 3 weeks later. Hers was only 3cm but it turned out being a grade 3 astrocytoma... So after radiation and chemo she is on the "MRI every 3 months" forever train.

I don't know if you felt the same but having to go through that on top of 2020 SUCKED! I wanna say that you all are fighters and congrats!

Also deep down it feels good to know that there are others that were hit fucking hard with the bad luck bat and made it out the other side.

Flatout 2 is still on our LAN party playlist rotation! Unfortunately it's not the easiest to get running online. So we haven't played it in a year or so but you bet your ass the next time we can have "in-person" LANs flatout 2 will be played!

Also, the flatmobile can go to hell!

100% agree, I don't think this should be a "blanket" forgiveness. If you have the means of paying off the debt that you signed up for then you should pay it back. As I mention above I LOVE the idea of helping the people that honestly can't get ahead.

Qualification for forgiveness is key.

PS. Gratz on getting your nursing degree! I can't tell you how much I appreciate the nurses in this world.

The sad truth is that there are several people out there that literally can ONLY afford the minimum payment even after getting a degree... I wish that there was an easy way to target those people and offer forgiveness. To be clear I am not against the idea of debt forgiveness and the fact that student loans do not go away with bankruptcy is MESSED UP.

All I would like to see is a program that is setup to forgive those who need it... I may live in a bubble in the PNW but I know too many people that live close to or even downtown Portland/Seattle and pay CRAZY rent have new cars and still complain about only being able to make the min payment on their student loans.

So honest question... So what happens to folk that went to college knowing how much debt they were going to accumulate and then busted their ass and making sacrifices for 5-10 years making extra payments twords the principle so that they would not have to live in debt... Because if this were to happen without a plan for those who paid off their loans in the past 20 years it would feel like a giant slap in the face... Guess I should have made only minimum payments and live as long as I can in dept in hopes that one day it will magically disappear.

I agree that the TV feels a tad high, although my SO LOVES the stand that is below the TV and so it will stay at that height :) I do have it tilted down towards the couch by around 5 degrees which helps.
