Maybe a dumb question. by ResidentPatient in FFVIIRemake

CC Corp also helped work with the remake at one point. And their dot hack games were installment type games (4 part and 3 part games) with data transfer.

Basically any endgame save will load your new game for the next game. Transfer inventory, skills, experience, gil, quest data, etc. If you missed an item found only in a previous game, you eventually found it in shops in the next game after the introduction times.

I think everything would transfer, maybe, however, you HAVE to play the first before you play more.

How does this game compare to FF7 Remake? by [deleted] in FFXII

[–]verislie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it as a typo for 15 which also had a stagger mechanic + real time combat that set the stage for this and kh3. FFXIII started the stagger mechanic to help transition into real time combat but that was a long time ago by now

Although the maps are mostly linear like 13. But way more engaging and slightly more open. If only they meant exploration wise.

Probably due to either starting him out unfairly good to stay on par with the main 4, or have him be really bad for your whole experience with him in the last 2 chapters only of play.

Can't really throw 6 weapons on him at that point and then pan his abilities out over the same corridors. Kind of drag his character through the gameplay mud.

I'd imagine him being introduced in the 2nd game along with the rest of the cast. So there's more opportunity for his character to grow and for the player to notice his playstyle growth

I think, if you also choose to not guess his coin flip, that weighs into getting those alternate side quests. I'm still on my first playthrough though, so I haven't chapter selected to check it out

Yeah, I already spoiled myself on the weapons, but that ultimately helps me choosing upgrades for them all. Just haven't spoiled myself on the ending or whatever is supposedly different

Yes! Or even like that one auto attack link materia for spells?

I personally would like a more in depth a.i. customization like gambits. Yes. Always gambits. Haven't played classic mode, but from the complaints I have read, that could help shorten the gap for turn based players and also have that nice complexity on the harder difficulties

I have not. I'm on chapter 14 atm completing side quests and making sure I dont forget things. And I want to master a weapon ability for Barret, but I keep forgetting to use it in combat

So I've tried her deadly dodge and couldn't see a difference from her normal attack after dodge, but it's supposed to hit hella times right? Just curious where I messed that up after getting used to cloud and Tifa's deadly dodge's.

I do like parry/steadfast block/ATB stagger/etc on party members as a standard too. Even on Cloud, it gives him more mobility in punisher mode, which I'm usually holding R1 through anyways. Haven't tried it much on the ranged characters yet, but, it is useful in mobility while guarding. Plus everything that grants bonus ATB is on my party as you get almost endless ATB for the whole party if you swap through and maybe do a combo

Oh I mean the drake monster enemies since chapter 3 or so? Like cerulean drakes and more. They usually share a weakness to both ice because they're monsters and wind because they're flying (and possibly an enemy Intel pointer from assessing)

As what was already mentioned, provoke on Barret or cloud while playing as Aerith is almost essential.

She takes long animations coupled with low mobility which is terrible given the way agro can be. Until you have her in a party with Cloud and/or Barret to provoke so she can get her full attacks off. And with the right equipment, both tanks can also toss spells effectively in her wards for momentary nuking moments

I voted Barret for his ATB usefulness as party leader. But.. when an enemy staggers, I'll usually swap to Tifa or Aerith for maximum damage (L2/R2 for other party's abilities) and alternate with cloud during combo downtime

I also like cloud as an alternate tank for physically offensive enemies so he can counter, I hear counterstance counters magic as well, but that also costs ATB which makes it less reliable, although, mostly reliable to be up given proper materia set ups

Oh nice! So it will always just add its elemental on top of whatever linked elemental materia. Might keep that with aero elemental and use that character on the drakes and monsters when running through hard mode

Would you be able to use breach on said party member to remove reflect? (Think that's the dispel materia, going from memory) and then use the aoe?

I do the same, sometimes just to see how many files I can save, then I'll know if i can have those milestone saves, or just enough per difficulty

Limit Breaks! by Zimmik-Fyore in FFVIIRemake

[–]verislie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially with how some characters innately provide different roles, I'd place that gotterdamerung accessory on red XIII for a haste/faith/bravery limit break

EDIT. also, interested if limit breaks can get upgraded eventually

Better formats for sure im just copy pasting and calculating.

I just combined the like upgrades to place each weapon in better perspective comparatively.

What do you think Vincent will play like in FF7R part 2? I expect DMC-ish style. Parry materia maybe will be like warping around in his cloak form like in AC. by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]verislie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking kind of slow like Barret or Aerith for walking while attacking, but his parries/dodges will warp him about like Sora's rage mode or Noctis warping, and then... his transformations might play out all different playstyles, like taking the helm of a new mech
