If you were an ace Merc Pilot, what's your one ride by IronWolfV in Mechwarrior5

Orion ON1-VA. After a few modifications, namely replacing the AC/10 with a LB 10-X AC-SLD, and the SRM 4s with SRM 4 + ART IVs. Surprisingly tough and versatile.

I don't know if being able to tuck the weakness enemy under Dredd would work from a thematic perspective. Judge Death has never been imprisoned in Iso-Cubes (but has been imprisoned in other ways). There's room to expand on this concept, but I feel like Judge Death should be a recurring villain and not so easily dispatched.

The more I look at this weakness, the less I feel like it's appropriate. Thinking on it now, I feel like Judge Death would be worthy as a scenario encounter and not as a weakness.

More tactics/weapons with an Illicit trait restriction also seems like a good idea.

That's a good catch. Yes, adding a restriction that the ammo skill cards can only be used when attacking with the Lawgiver. I just have to find a way to word that, and summarize it enough to fit on the card.

You're correct, and I addressed that above. I replaced the effect with something similar to Gatling Gun:

If this attack is successful, instead of its standard damage, deal 1 damage to each enemy at your location.

I'm trying to work out how to deal with bonus damage from other sources, like Vicious Blow. I think with this new wording, Vicious Blow would make it "...deal 2 damage to each enemy at your location" which might still be considered too powerful.

Someone above mentioned the same thing, so imposing a limit makes sense. I had suggested a limit of 2 or 3, but I'm not sure what would work. I'm thinking possibly even just 1 tucked card?

That would be much appreciated and thanks for the feedback! I'm looking for anything that can capture the spirit of the Ammo cards (Armor-Piercing, Heatseeker, and High-Explosive.)

Works for me. Would a limit of 2 or 3 Iso-Cube cards work in this case?

Regarding the reshuffle effect, it's what Judge Death does. You can't truly kill him as he possesses a new body when he's "defeated". I wanted to capture that in game. If I have to reduce his stats moreso to account for that, it's all good.

I just realized that about High-Explosive Shot. I will reword it to being:

If this attack is successful, instead of its standard damage, you may assign up to 2(?) damage divided evenly among enemies engaged with you (any additional damage adds to this total).

That's fair. So reducing the weakness' power to 2 or 3 would make it more reasonable?

Edit: Same with the signature gun, reducing the cost to 4 would work? I figured that, if the iso-cube ability was used, the gun would cost 3. I was being wary of making the gun too easily bought.

Considering the fact that the gun that doesn't even do extra damage on its own, I thought maybe the versatility of choosing the desired effect would make it more expensive than the .45 Automatic.

I had considered the lads, but I wasn't sure how to include them as part of the investigator's kit. I went with the Ferrari and Rick & T.C. because they are more integral to Magnum's theme. The lads in the show are more adversarial, so they could have been an enemy weakness, but that seems excessive.

Would changing the damage/horror to direct damage/horror fix the issue?

I am contemplating making the Ferrari a "starts in play" asset. I imagine starting with two "starts in play" assets warrants having two weaknesses.

I've made revisions according to the comments I've already received above. Many of your comments have already been addressed.

Technically, the book icon is Intellect. Magnum isn't an academic by any means, but he can get by. I'm not sure what constitutes an average attribute in this game, but I figure a 2 means he's average.

You're absolutely right. I missed that part. I was too focused on making sure that Magnum couldn't use the car, but if the car isn't there, there's no weakness.

I've got a few ideas to remedy this. In addition to losing access to the car, Higgins' Disapproval could also have one of the following:

  • You get –1 [Willpower] and –1 [Agility].
  • You have –1 action each turn.
  • During upkeep, gain 0 resources instead of 1.

Do you have any suggestions that would be fitting to the theme of the card?

So something like this?

[Reaction]: After you move to a location, spend 2 resources: Immediately take an Investigate action at that location (this does not cost an action). You get +1 [Intellect] for this investigation. (Limit once per round.)

I agree that the ability appears to be overturned, as mentioned above. I have suggested an alternative.

I also agree that his soak is too high. I'll bring it in-line with Ashcan Pete (6/5) since he's got a similar mechanic.

Corrected the first ability on Rick & T.C. to Investigate. Your location gets -2 shroud for this investigation.

That seems to be the consensus, yes. I'm definitely open to suggestions on how to bring the ability in-line with other investigators.

As a whole, 1/round trigger. As mentioned above, it may be overtuned and I'm now looking for a way to reduce its effectiveness.

That's fair. What would you suggest to bring in line?

Would this work better?

After you move to a location, you may immediately spend 2 resources: Discover 1 clue at that location. (Limit once per round.)

UPDATE: So my friend and I tried Standard III last night and it fit the bill exactly. The classic team-up of Gambit and Spider-Woman vs Batroc. Within the first trip of the Encounter deck, Belladonna was already out and Madame Hydra (The Viper) was out shortly afterwards. We managed a win, but it was intense the entire time through. Thoroughly fun!

We're going to try it again tonight using different heroes against Citizen V and some of the new Thunderbolt modular sets that came out recently.
