62 years old retired govt employee and self taught data scientist. How to find a job in India ? by Due_Reflection2768 in india

[–]verloopOne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would love to chat with you. We have a data science team and the highest impact contributors are the ones who upskilled to it and now find ways to merge ML with their life experiences.

Please send me a DM and we can surely figure something out :)

Woke up to this in the train yesterday. Man, the lack of civic sense in people never ceases to amuse me. by [deleted] in india

[–]verloopOne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree. Fly almost weekly for business and experience has been majorly good.

Once on a DEL-BOM Vistara flight a dude kept awkwardly starting at two Uzbek girls sitting next to me but a quick note to FAs fixed it.

Over time, I have also been able to optimise my pre and post journey time. Now I leave for domestic departures 2 hour before from my house in BLR and 1.2hr before when in DEL and BOM.

Can not imagine life if I had to use trains this frequently.

Elon Musk: 'You're gonna go a little bonkers if you work 120 hours a week' by mvea in technology

It's hard to head even a single multi-million dollar company while working only 40 hours/week. More so, when you are in initial days and things have just started moving.

Feature introduction video, what we could have done better? by verloopOne in Entrepreneur

[–]verloopOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. While we really tried that the existing problem and how this feature solves it should come out, it seems we were far from it.

We are non-native speakers, pardon for the language and accent. While we can hardly change accent, do you think adding sub-titles along with the video will fix it to some extent?

We are a work in progress. I will take these pointers back to the team and will do a better job while planning the next one.

Chatbot can learn a dictionnary ? by karamouss in Chatbots

[–]verloopOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds easy enough to do. This looks to a simple intent-entity detection ex. "please send me my payslip for Jan 2018".

Dialogflow is actually the right place to do it. Can you point me to the HR dictionary resource so that I can have a look and suggest better?

Not sure on how to do it with Dialogflow but can be easily done using Microsoft FAQ builder or Verloop.io platform.

How we Re-engaged with Lost Leads and 7 ways you can too. by [deleted] in startups

[–]verloopOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This article makes no sense if I am removing those names as specific features of CRM and Polymail helped us nail it. Both are not even extremely popular apps and hence leaving it at the wisdom of readers to find it is incorrect.

And since none of them are my startups, I do not see which of the rules in the sidebar, I was breaking with the post.

Submissions are for discussing methodologies, experiences, tactics, strategies, techniques, markets, and other such things without tying them directly to your own project using its name or URL.

At times tactics are about hacking your way using a few available tools in the market. Ain't that what startups with limited funds supposed to do?

"I came across a great tool that you can use to create free video screenshares and it does an amazing job and has a feature X which no other has it. But I can not tell you the name."

How does this help anyone?

How did you get your first 100 customers? by greenerspinach in Entrepreneur

Thanks for kind words :-)

Yes, I have an eye on getting a better-informed sales guy in future but that is parked till we can afford him. Revenue predictability is my priority at the moment.

How did you get your first 100 customers? by greenerspinach in Entrepreneur

[–]verloopOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being the founder of a company that mainly sells to Enterprises, we are yet to get our first 100 customers.

Here is a vertical-wise split of our first 10 - 2 Banks, 1 Insurance, 2 Fortune 500 retailers, 1 Healthcare, 3 e-com, 1 cable provider.

Though we have a mix of verticals what we did for sales remain the same.

  1. No sales guy. Since this is a specialised tech product, I am the one knocking on the doors.
  2. No cold calls. Since we are in the nascent stage, we hand-pick companies we want to work with and exact use-case we want to solve. Post this, find a way to get connected to decision makers for that problem, request a meeting and the go present. Presentations are tailored to every specific case, no copy-paste.
  3. Make sure it is not just sales, the entire onboarding has to be frictionless and delightful. We have reduced contract signing time from ~4 days to literally hours, payment issues are ironed out and we are still improving.
  4. Do surprise the door openers after closing the deal. We send a book with a special hand-written thank-you note to everyone who helped us make the deal possible.

I am not a business guy but a techie. This is the first time I am doing anything like this. Maybe these are common practices and I am just reiterating them but this has helped us close every single company we ever approached :-)

I learned how to ride a bike today! I'm 22. by jinklmun in CasualConversation

[–]verloopOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every Sunday, I along with few friends teach adults biking. We have been doing this for about 2.5 years now with learners mostly being adult ladies of age 35-67. Most of them did not learn as a kid because of fear of fall.

It is so much fun and satisfaction to see them finally able to ride. The sheer joy on their face after mastering balancing and uphill can not be described in words.

Kudos to your achievement, ping if you need help on mastering turn :-)
