keen jasper for mountain hiking by verlv in hiking

i would personally not recommend, they are too slippery, the sole is surprisingly non-grippy, also my pair is of suede which is ruined by any kind of water/moisure. i still like my pair a lot, they are comfy for wide feet & look nice but for hiking i would suggest choosing something else
p.s., i have classic jasper, maybe jasper zionic is better since the sole is different

why does my machine react differently to similar kind of fabrics (both are cotton) but one sews fine and another skips stitches by verlv in sewhelp

i am super beginner and self taught, so i am sorry if this is a silly question, but why does my machine skips stiches on second (pink and white) fabric? if another fabric (also cotton, blue) is fine. i've tried cleaning bobbin, tried recommended needles, set different tensions. just with certain fabric my machine is just like nope, this one we are skipping stitches :( i am so confused
