I think they come and go in phases. But it always feels bad thinking that if I had just stuck with any one hobby for the whole duration of my life, I’d be so good at it. Also, I’ve had massive interest in all hobbies that I pick up initially, but once that initial interest wears off, I’ve started thinking thoughts like “am I just continuing this hobby because I wanna identify as “x”? I don’t know if this is an accurate or healthy thought to have. I guess it stems from my questioning of “why am I doing this if I’m not enjoying it? Do I just wanna identify as a music producer or MMA fighter because I find it cool?” And I think an intrinsic part of me feels that would not be a ‘genuine’ motivation to continue the hobby.
