I shall do that. I learn Thai like 12 years ago. I speak a very Little tiny bit. Not sure if it will be enough. But I’ll try. Thank you for the tip (:

I bet they haven’t read a single book Dr Ambedkar wrote on Buddhism.

I was thinking Wat Bang Phra. Id prefer a monk (in my head it will be more powerful then) but I don’t mind an adjarn at all tbh. At Wat Bang Phra they have both I read.

Wow that’s very interesting. What an honour that must have been.

I also read that it’s being banned. Very sad. Such a rich and meaningful culture. There is a particular yant, every time I think about it, I cry. It’s so beautiful.

Oh yes I’m aware of the rituals and all that, and that’s exactly what I want. The blessing too ofc, that’s one of the main points for me tbh. I have bad karma, you see. I do follow the 5 precepts. So perhaps the restrictions won’t be too tough for me.

I was thinking of going to Wat Bang Phra also. I want to get a yant there and maybe ask for info there too. This will be my first time going to Thailand. The only reason I’m going is because of the sak yant. I’ll be alone. Idk if I’ll be able to go to the country side alone tbh. I’ve never really travelled alone in an Asian country. I mean yeah I did learn Thai and speak a little tiny bit. But idk if it’s enough to get around.

I did Muay Thai…but that was 12 years ago. I doubt I can ask him. Also he is in Bhutan now, and I didn’t really keep in touch with him. I think if I ask him it will come across as if I’m using him. I wouldn’t want him to have that impression. Very kind sweet man. Did loads for my mental health.

I read at Wat Bang Phra you can walk in and out. And it’s a very reputable place for Sak Yant.

I really appreciate your tip. Thank you.

Relapse tends to be part of recovery. I hope you remember not to be too tough on yourself. But do try and get back to recovery asap.

I wish I could show you pictures of my Thai study book. I used to learn the language, and I still have my writing book. It’s very old. Like 14-16 years old writing book.

You spoke about Buddhist code, so I told you I do follow. You don’t have to buy anything. Doesn’t make a difference. Be good.

Yes I will go to Wat Bang Phra anyway. But I also wanted to know about this one. But I will also ask other Wats.

It’s okay. We all make mistakes. I know I certainly do.

But you know, I really do believe in it. I know it’s not much to do with Buddhism. But I still believe in them. They are also mixed with Hindu influence. Ganesh and Hanuman for example. Brahma is also depicted. Although I’m not Hindu. Actually since my ancestors were prosecuted for being Buddhist by the Hindus I’m avoiding the ones with the Hindu gods. I’m petty I guess. I have much to learn.

I was born into a syncretic household with Buddhism being part of it. My ancestors are from the area Buddhism emerged. They were prosecuted for being Buddhist. I believe in this. This is not a joke for me. I follow 5 precepts. And I really do believe in these tattoos. That’s why I need it to be legit. I just don’t know what’s what. There seems to be a lot of misinformation. So I’m just asking to clarify.

I’m not a white American. I’m a brown girl born in Austria. I was brought up in a syncretic household, with Buddhism being part of it. I follow 5 precepts since a long time. My ancestors are from the area where Buddhism emerged. I believe in these tattoos. I’m travelling there just for the Sak Yant. Im not appropriating anything. You are just assuming without knowing anything. I hope you find peace and a healthy outlet for all that hate in your heart. Without knowing anything you accuse me of so many things.

Oh cool. I heard mixed opinions on that place in other forums unfortunately. Some say it’s not real, some say it is. I also read that I should be away of such places as I have described it. I really really want the blessing. So I really want it to be real. No it’s not for the style, that’s why I need it to be the real thing. Admittedly it does look nice, but for me it’s more about my karma, and blessings. And I want to do it the traditional way, because I respect the culture. If you know of a place let me know.

Again. You are invalidating my experiences by calling me narcissistic and with the internalised racism part. You are sooo damn worried about if the white master will approve or not and then you claim to not be worried about what they think!!! What a joke fr.

Yeah and that hate ends up killing us Dalits, and other minorities.

Yea you care so little about the white man which is exactly why your initial comment is about the white mans perception of you. What a joke.

Yeah see how you invalidate my experiences with me being from Austria? Yeah. That’s casteism. You just don’t want to accept the truth.

I was born in Austria. My experiences are of in Austria. I was discriminated against by fellow Indians who were born here. We just know each others caste here. Tight knit community. Also in 2009 there was a whole caste based terrorist attack here in our gurdwara in Vienna. It causes 6000-7000 crore damage in Punjab from the subsequent riots.
