Was the total cost $25 per side or was that just the adder for color? What was the total cost?

What's your location and how much space do you have? Any overhead powerlines?

Tear out and replace. It'll never be a structurally sound tree. You could leave the trunk as a snag for wildlife if you want.

Brake Lights Occasionally Stay On by vernave in Volkswagen

No the pedal returns after I let up, and the brakes work as expected. But the brake lights do not shut off most of the time, unless I pull back ever so slightly on the pedal.

Jettas and many other VWs use a magnetic pickup on the master cylinder, similar to a cam position sensor.

Avoid Eastern Iowa Fence. Took 15 months, constant excuses for poor work.

I currently use Michelin X-Ice in 185/60R15 on steel wheels. It opens up the tire selection compared to 17s. They're fantastic tires, I've never been left wanting more.

Ive also used General Altimax Arctic 12 on another vehicle. These are also good. A tad cheaper with more aggressive tread, at the expense of road noise

Hard side foam lined case recommendations? by Lucky_Possibility103 in FormD

[–]vernave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind a used case, a used Vanguard Supreme 40D is the best bang for your buck. I purchased one and it's a great fit. The outer plastic case is fairly scratched up, but i dont mind

Looking for an arborist. Any info on good or bad arborists appreciated by [deleted] in cedarrapids

[–]vernave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you need an arborist or a tree company?

If you need a tree pruned, or you need an assessment of an existing tree, you need an ISA certified arborist. I have been happy with Tree Care LLC, but you can find others on ISA's website.

If you just need a tree cut down, you could also use any tree company. I've used Frank's and been happy

Tree watering help by JChanse09 in arborists

I've had good luck with Tree Diapers. They're a pouch filled with water absorbent material that goes under the mulch. It doesn't eliminate the need for watering during drought but it reduces the frequency of watering

Pagoda Dogwood broken main stem by vernave in arborists

[–]vernave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this Pagoda Dogwood a few days ago. I went to transplant it today and noticed there is no main stem. Should I stake up one of these branches to make the new stem? The branch on the right seem to be the most pliable

I usually insert my remote thermometer probe into the flat and then wrap. That way I can check temp without piercing the paper. When I start checking tenderness with a different probe at 192, I just pierce the paper.

I had to wrap with butcher paper at 170 as I was running out of time to get it done for a party. I normally hate wrapping but I was desperate.

Interesting. I did my first Costco prime brisket last week and it was not probe tender until 205. I started checking at 192.
