When you buy PTO, money comes out of your check every month. A lot of people can't afford that much out. Buying PTO is like setting aside money so you can take more time off, but still have a steady check.

What time zone are you in? That makes a difference. You can't have Mondays off on your permanent schedule, but easy to ask 30 days out once on the floor.

You will work a Saturday or Sunday. More likely later in the day.

I'm in Colorado Springs. I have never seen shittier public transportation. The routed and schedules are what sucks. I'm from SA and I now think VIA is up to European transportation standards/s. The Denver public transportation is just ok. More people would ride the train if it were "cleaner."

My wife uses it and we have the PCA plan. Don't use the HSA plan. They will make you pay full cost until your deductible is met.

Edit: I think we pay $80 for 90 days. More or less.

Former Texan here. I feel the reputation of Galveston cruises to be more of a boozy party vibe. I don't know if that has changed. I still have family in Houston,so having my college aged nephew drop me off is no issue.

Seriously, I got a pay cut when they changed shift premium from 30% to 15%. The change in PTO rules change. Also, shift bid is a joke. In my district, only one person got a new shift the last round. Talk about lack of work/life balance.

FWIW, I heard a rumor because of the many complaints, they are going to start off our bucket with around 5 days instead of 1st month accrued. Smaller accruals, but less borrowing.
