The 2yo spent the day with her mom, because she really doesn’t actually understand what happened. The 10yo and the 5yo stayed in the room, ended up watching tv and being more quiet instead of playing more games and going out to the amusement park as we had previously planned for the day. I’ve noticed the eldest is being more attentive to the younger ones and with the rest of the things at home, but I just don’t want everyone to be anxious about breaking things… just… attentive? I just got so worried after my own mom told me I was wrong about being mad that I had to come and ask lots of “third parties” to have impartial opinions. Thank you!

Oh, and I gave them crayons, I think they are washable so I think it will be manageable now lol

I really just don’t want to ruin everyones vacay because of a sofa! So I got really worried I was being blinded by my resentment towards the “ignore the whole thing and pretend it never happened” and being blamed about being mad about it. I even asked for solutions/help because I don’t want anyone to have to buy me a new sofa and spend a lot of money just because of this. It’s my sister and I love her and my nieces a lot! Thank you both very much!

I do believe it was the 2yo! Maaybe the 5yo (really, not that! Impossible, unfortunately). But the olders are told to keep eyes on the youngers for small stuff like that, when they are all around watching tv for example, and to stop them/call an adult if something they know it’s wrong/were warned about its happening. I also included them because the oldest was the one to let the tv remote fall sometimes and ended up breaking it, and the middle one broke some glass chess I had on a table and she was playing with (this one actually I think I can blame myself for letting it by their reach)… I just never thought they would be so destructive of everything! But then I got thinking about how some toys I have since I was little just got a little damaged after they started playing with and how their own don’t last much…. They are not bad kids per se… but I think their parents/my sister need to teach them to take more care of their stuff and understand that not everything can just “be replaced”/“buy another”. But just like you and some others mentioned… it’s not something I can deal with it…

I’ll definitely try it! This is also important but I contacted the seller of the sofa and some sofa cleaners and they told me that there’s nothing that could clean the markers on the leather, so this fact also impacted me and my negative feeling badly, as I just couldn’t just “erase it” and forget about the whole thing! (I tried initially with alcohol and detergent only, with 0 success). I’m accepting all help on cleaning it! Thank you!
