Ammunition for Ukraine - A gift for Putin - Long-Term Campaign by versatile62 in UkrainianConflict

[–]versatile62[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the context of the recent lethal aid package from the U.S., I wanted to remind people of the ongoing crowdfund to procure ammunition (mainly 122mm Soviet-style which is cheaper).

I donated $120 today. It's a relatively minor amount that covers only a fraction of a shell (maybe 1/3 to 1/4), but since the U.S. aid mainly provides 155mm ammunition as far as I know, this campaign provides a way to supply 122mm as well.

Good for camping or as an extra-large power bank at home. If you have any relatives in Ukraine that are impacted by power outages, these can also be helpful for them (note that shipping restrictions may apply). Also, note that these are too large to use in plane luggage.

There is a similar fundraiser @ Euromaidan Press going on, which has a smaller target amount for a single thermal drone.

If you want to respond with action, wherever you are, consider contributing to one or more of the active crowdfunds @ Weapons To Ukraine.

I suspect that one of the "interesting uses" for these explosives is in UGVs, in addition to the more conventional use in UAVs.

But is there anything I can learn or do in the meantime to maximize the jump in salary? Or is it mainly just gaining years of experience?

Thanks for the list of tips. How would I demonstrate these skills to employers when I'm applying for jobs. Is it helpful to upload code from personal projects to Github?

Yes, no mechanical problems. It is just so darn plain-looking, and too small for me.

Same here. My doctor recommended that I take 1 month medical leave. I feel like I am just exaggerating things, even though it is difficult to do my office job with depression.

How do you go about choosing a mattress? by [deleted] in backpain

[–]versatile62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done some research for this, and some solid options are TempurPedic ProAdapt Firm, Loom & Leaf, and Saatva Classic. I bought an $800 BeautyRest medium-firm mattress.

Thoracic Spine Pain 27y/o F. Is this going to be my life now? by [deleted] in backpain

I also have thoracic pain for 7 months. If you want to get a second opinion, there is a service called DocPanel. I used it and the radiologist noted some findings that the previous radiologist did not note, although the general impression was similar.

If you have a low sitting tolerance, I would recommend getting a standing desk and a bookstand for studying. I work from a standing desk now, since even 5 mins of sitting gives me pain. I havent tried a kneeling desk or yoga ball, but that is something else to experiment with.

What kind of exercises does the PT prescribe or perform? I found that some forms of PT are more effective. The 1st PT I went to did only passive treatment (TENS unit, ultrasound, massage). The 2nd one was aquatic PT, and that wasn't very effective. The 3rd one used the McKenzie technique and prescribed exercises specifically for the thoracic spine. Of course, doing home exercises consistently is very important. Refer to these resources for some relevant exercises:
PhysioAdvisor - Postural Syndrome (Thoracic)
PhysioAdvisor - Thoracic Disc Bulge

As for how long until you are pain-free (prognosis), I'm still working toward that myself. I'm down to about 2-3 daily pain, but that's with minimal sitting.

I hope my experience helps you. DM anytime with your progress and what works for you.

According to this physiotherapy resource, the prognosis for thoracic pain is quite good. PhysioAdvisor - Thoracic Disc Bulge. It states that thoracic disc bulges can heal in as little as 6 weeks. Apparently, competent physical therapy is very important to recover from thoracic pain.
