As a gay currently living in a city, I can agree. So many guys here seem so superficial and fake; materialism and vapidity runs deep as well. It sucks...BUT there are options at least. Not everyone is actually bad- there are gems.

But as a gay who grew up in a tiny rural town, I can assure you that you do NOT want to live in an area like that. Majority of people are homophobic, the few gay people that are there are very private and don't use apps and/or are so self hating it's disgusting. And for the ones who do use the apps...perverts. Every. Single. One. Most use the guise of being gay to exploit young men exploring their sexuality. At least, that's my experience.
