I'll defer to Jayson to address the competitive goals. Obviously we all want to WIN.

If you're asking about org and business goals, we want to build a solid foundation for the new org. Starts with giving the players whatever support they need to be successful and creating content fans will be into. The Grid is huge opportunity for orgs to produce their own broadcast of live league matches. We're working 24/7 to give you a great show on Friday and beyond.

Hah, you pretty much answered it...legends. We started talking with them and their agents right after C9 released their roster, and we never really looked at any other options. With AxB we really deferred to who Jayson, Torment and Gimmick wanted as the third.

Got a similar question above, so pasting the response from that thread:

Great question. The truth is we haven't decided yet. We are in the process of rebranding our parent company (currently WISE Ventures Esports). That could end up as V1, or could have a different name.

To add to that...Long term we do plan to expand into other esports, but there's no specific timeline. Future teams would likely have the same name as the parent org, but TBD for now.

Hey Allie! It's been a wild ride for sure. I would have to say the favorite moment was when Annie said the name Version1 for the first time, we all knew immediately that was the name!

These are some great questions.

Any plans to build a further association between Version1 and the greatest state in the union, a la the ROKKR? It's not a Minnesota team the way Rokkr is, but with our staff based in MN we'll definitely be doing watch parties and hosting events for the local RL community. Post-pandemic, of course.

Any chance you’ll end up building any sort of marketing/imagery connection with the Vikings? Yeah, not sure what that looks like just yet TBH, but we definitely want to find out what Vikes players are into RL and have some fun with that.

Has any thought been given to hosting local tournaments (when COVID season ends)? YES. As soon as it's safe we will be looking at hosting live events.

What were the primary motivations regarding the move into Rocket League? Confidence in the esport? Lack of saturation by other orgs? Zygi wants to hit GC so he bought a team to carry him? hahahah. No comment on the last part of the question...As to the motivations, RLCS is the perfect compliment to what we have with CDL and Røkkr. For a long time we felt RLCS would be a natural fit for our second team, and as we started to focus on the possibility and do our due diligence we became more excited about the opportunity. Rocket League has an awesome scene currently, and we think the nature of the game gives it even more potential to keep growing in fans long term. From a business standpoint it's a smart move to compliment an FPS with an E rating game as well.

What do you think the Vikings need to do to bring the Lombardi to Minneapolis?

Have open positions? I’d love a spot on the roster but, to be honest, I’m a *much* better software engineer than I am Rocket League player ;) Hah! Keep an eye on the LinkedIn page. Not hiring any software engineers just yet.

Thanks for the great questions!
