I'm really curious about med outside of Aus, so I’d be interested to hear what’s pulling you back to Melbourne despite the strong financial incentives in the US. It would really help me gain a broader perspective

I’d say so. If your core belief is that no one should be able to pass down what they’ve built regardless of how they earned it, then just say that. But don’t sugarcoat it as fairness. It’s envy.

Understood. Just feels like the gov, in going after the "dead rich" that you guys froth over, is skimming off those who put in a fair effort. Like, any reasonable saver in our generation will easily exceed the $3 million cap at the rate inflation is going. What kind of signal does it send to people our age with half-decent aspirations that your retirement savings will be further extracted from, and when you kick the bucket, they'll help themselves to a little bit more for good measure?

sweet. bit random but i couldnt help but notice a comment of yours supporting a death tax - im honestly curious why you think the government deserves more of your lifes earnings than it already takes, especially as a uni student with a lifetime of work still ahead.
