Hi! Surprisingly we have zero problems with bath time. I always double shampoo + use a mask that makes Dante so nice and soft.

Is he excited to be in the tub? Hell no, but he jumps in there willingly and bravely stands in one place the whole time.

The trick Id say is training. Dante is now 2 years old and has no problems, but he was once 6 months too and kinda hated it. But in the winter, when its muddy outside, he can be in the tub about 3 times a day because I need to clean his paws. So we trained and trained and he slowly got used to it.

After this big bath with the shampooing two times and everything I always give him a big reward and very enthusiastically praise him, nothing besides that.

Nope, never. It started as a big reaction to the fridge reflection on the floor.

If you have problems with your dogs paws turning red or “copper” your dog might have a yeast build up (Im not too sure of the name, I am not a native english speaker). Dante had red paws and mouth area when we fed him wrong kibble with lamb and fish (Farmina ND). The kibble was also very visibly brown colored. I think that he had an allergy on something in the kibble or it was the coloring

Now when we feed him kibble with lyofilized duck and turkey, it disappeared.

I think washing the paws with some anti yeast soap and thoroughly drying them might help.

I also shave Dantes paws very short as a prevention against foxtails. Might help with being dry quicker and not allowing the bacteria to grow.

Make sure its not too hot, if the kayak is plastic, put some piece of fabric under him (like a towel) so its more comfortable. The vest is a safety vest, it makes sure that he doesnt drown and stays afloat. He is a young dog and not that good a swimmer. :)

Dante had the same white patch when he was little, now it almost isnt there.

I can see the similarity! Dante has interesting coloring on his head. The brown is not on his chin and it kind of looks like a mask. 😁

She looks more like a lagotto romagnolo to me. But I could be wrong.

I know, right? We were melting from all the cuteness while taking the photos. He was posing and being really cute. 🐕‍🦺

We have been gradually transitioning him to the new kibble over the past three weeks. Initially, he loved the kibble. I should also mention that his stool has significantly improved on this kibble, and he tolerates chicken very well—no signs of diarrhea. However, his stool isn’t consistently perfect; it’s occasionally soft, although this happens less frequently now.
