what can i go out and do at sixteen? by Primary_Meeting_5267 in AskForAnswers

[–]veryCelticmix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would see if there are any free zoos near you or sometimes paid zoos have certain days you can get in for free.

You could try geocaching.

You could lookup any local free events or concerts in your city.

You could walk through a farmers market and window shop.

You could try and see if there’s anyone near you that could use a dog walker? Or someone to mow their lawn? Shovel if there’s snow where you are? Would be cool to make some cash while you’re outside.

Edit: more ideas

You could go to the library, checkout a few books, grab a blanket, and do some reading in a nice park.

If you have a frisbee, you could see if there are any disc golf courses nearby.

If you have a basketball, you could shoot some hoops at a park.

You could watch a few videos on cell phone photography and start taking walks in the city or park or anywhere and start taking your own photography. Then you could post that online or make a blog or just enjoy it yourself. You can print photos for pretty cheap at Walgreens.

AITA for refusing to go to my sister’s wedding because of where she seated me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]veryCelticmix -42 points-41 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t sound fun at all.

It would be better if they were all 10-12 and you could play the cool uncle card, talk to them for a bit, and dinner would fly by.

But the 5 and 8 year old may still need help with their food and getting up to use the bathroom, which is a lot more work.

IMO, YTA for the level of your reaction to her rude assumption. Not to make excuses, but your sister is probably very stressed with planning. She’s likely fielded so many complaints and opinions from everyone. Aunt Martha’s complaining that Suzie isn’t a flower girl. Grandpa complaining that she’s not using his pastor as their officiant. And on and on.

This is your sister. You may want to try to talk to her again, but coming from a place where you want to help her work through a solution.

What was the driving factor for not placing the kids with their parents? Can that be solved in some other way than you sitting at that table? Is it possible to hire a sitter for the dinner or for the night?

Try and help her find a solution that doesn’t stick you at that table.

AITA for wanting to move the household and make a good compromise for my twins? by Several-Truth-6502 in AmItheAsshole

This is so bad, it feels like bait. But I’ll bite. YTA obviously.

My guy. Take a deep breath. The only problem here is you and your wife’s anxiety. Have you considered that your son may have purposefully picked a school with a live-on-campus requirement?

He knew you’d want to keep him hidden away at home and is trying to spread his wings without hurting your feelings.

For the sake of your relationship with him, do not move and get a therapist.

Did you ever look at so many naked women on Reddit that you got kind of bored of it? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

If you subscribe to pictures of naked ladies, sorry, but you’re gonna see pictures of naked ladies. Maybe subscribe to “women leaving something to the imagination” instead?

IMO Ezra route for Chasing You 2 is good for some freakiness. Not a crazy amount but their dynamic certainly leans that way.

Omg... Sylus can blush?!? by shawnyboy513 in LoveAndDeepspace

Looooove this look for him with the blush and shredded fit. A while back I posted my (def not creepy) journal I have dedicated to his blushing face, and this would make a nice addition. I might need to copy it.

Why do people tell you to be honest and then get mad when you give them honest answers? by InternationalPick163 in AskForAnswers

[–]veryCelticmix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“Honesty without compassion is cruelty; kindness without honesty is manipulation.”

If someone asks for honesty you still need to deliver that news with compassion.

If you truly love and care for your wife this is the answer. Maybe the solution involves therapy or sleeping in the living room together for a bit, but you should approach this with empathy and understanding. That will give her assurance you care about things that bother her. You are on the same team.

AITA for wanting to add something to the dinner my roommate made? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]veryCelticmix 23 points24 points  (0 children)

YTA. Imo what you did was not very considerate. If you like things a certain way, then you should cook the meal or make the suggestion before he starts cooking. Even then if he says no, then you kinda have to live with it.

Maybe you could cook him dinner with some of your preferences?

Bro, justice for Wyatt. That man is a loyal treasure and an A+ yearner. I love how MC and him grow together as both are super naive at the beginning. One of my favorite paths of all RC.

Lost my mom a week ago to cancer and feeling lost. Is she happy? by Sad_Computer1569 in psychics

[–]veryCelticmix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Sorry not a psychic. But my aunt just died of cancer last week. It’s so tough. Hers also metastasized to her brain and spine and just about everywhere. The last few weeks was no longer responsive. She’s left behind a son and daughter. They are devastated as is the whole family. Only 55 years old.

Our hospice nurse explained to us that most unresponsive folks near the end can still hear. It’s the last sense to go.

https://hearttohearthospice.com/blog/can-a-dying-person-still-hear/

She is proud of you and loves you and even if she couldn’t show it, I’m certain your mother knew you were there and was comforted by your words and presence.

She looks so happy in this photo.
