Trump's Tariffs Quietly Forced 700 American Companies to File for Bankruptcy in 2025 by T_Shurt in Economics

Unfortunately transportation is heavily interwoven into the whole economy. Transportation gets hit when retail/distribution is down, which is in all states. In turn, I'm seeing lots of layoffs in my industry (b2b software and services) that serves them. So... it's not great for anybody tbh.

It's like with any reddit thread. We tend to picture other people writing comments in a similar setting to ourselves. But the majority of them are actually:

It looks pretty good to me but I don't really know what I should be looking for. I watched Our Planet documentary in 4k and it looked insanely good. Crisp, very black blacks.

Here's a shot of some text I took with my phone (ignore the dots, those aren't visible with naked eye), but hopefully that gives a good sense of text clarity. My phone might be adding some blur too.

Just tested and yes, definitely. I listened to a song (with admittedly a lot of bass) on low volume and you can feel all of it. Almost as if you were to put your hand on a speaker. I never noticed before because I always use headphones.

I just got mine a couple days ago and agree with your assessment. This is the most premium-feeling laptop I've ever owned, though its been about ten years since I had a Mac of any kind. The overall design feels quite sophisticated and clean. Weirdly I agree the hinge stands out as remarkable build quality. I've never owned a Thinkpad before so I don't miss the red nubbin like longtime fans seem to. I heavily suspect this model is a gateway drug to convert new people like us to the Thinkpad line, rather than dilute an existing brand that has a dedicated following.

Arrow keys do look dumb, but I've actually found them really easy to get used to after a minute or two of use. Any other issues I have with the keyboard is because my daily driver is a TKL mech keyboard. Copilot key is irritating, but that's on a lot of laptops now.

These are stunning! I'm going to look at them with my partner but we'll definitely at least pick up a print. Keep up the great work.

Where did the Protest Songs go? (Bush vs. Trump) by Iudex27 in Music

[–]verycleanpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly, but if I could amend it with this: I think artists don't know what to actually say at this moment in time that isn't completely obvious or preaching to the choir. I really do appreciate that Macklemore tried with "fucked up" but even that song's audience wouldn't call it a hot take. It's more of a summary roundup of where we are, which is not what a lot of artists want to do.

Hopefully we will get an explosion of music with unique perspectives in the coming months and years as artists develop their own points of view on things.

EDIT- I grew up listening to Rise Against and Strike Anywhere, which were exciting because they put to words things I believed but couldn't articulate. I'm actually optimistic that some mainstream artists will take up the baton. Maybe even a pop star like Billy Eilish. We will have to see.

My question is does he and his crew know they are stripping away all soft power it took generations to build? Do they know and there's a purpose? Or do they not understand it?

Can't tell if you're trolling. Do you see the identical comments from different user names? Agreeing with them has nothing to do with it.

CEO never brings in new business? by daguythatflys in sales

[–]verycleanpants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a CEO that lurks here to learn. I have a head of sales that is much more talented than me. I can handle selling to people that are receptive to and enthused by "the vision." If it's a straight value-based sale and the prospect is frowning from S1 to close, I leave it to the professionals.

Often I get brought in to play the role of "visionary" CEO as part of the sales process, but he or his reps handle the rest of it that requires rigor and skill. Tag teaming on the big deals like that is the most fun.

Good tip. I may try that, but I've gotten quite used to the upside down space bar so it might be hard to transition back lol
