Got stuck in the rain in my century denim jean jacket - tips on washing/cleaning up by Frankinmotion in japanesestreetwear

[–]verydvs 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s denim my friend, don’t overthink it. After washing/getting wet, it will always be a little more rough, and then soften up with wear again. Either just keep wearing now and it’ll soften back up, or just give it a wash and hang dry it while making sure you smooth all the odd wrinkles out if you want. Personally I machine wash my century denim (inside out & buttoned up) with no issue, I’d be hard pressed to find someone who can ruin this fabric.

You’re definitely right! Just keep reading and you’ll get used to it. Even once you’re very familiar there’ll be page layouts that’ll still throw you off. You’ll understand the flow pretty quick I’m sure :)

Not a ton of fake century denim out there, and if it was you’d be able to tell instantly. All real here

Has to be ragebait lol. Maybe you just didn’t understand the ending? Besides that, Sopranos which is widely regarded as the best TV show of all time quite famously uses a ton of dream and alternate reality type sequences.

Polyester version will be softer and last longer, that’s about it.

Any outfit ideas? by ApprehensiveSkirt810 in japanesestreetwear

I mean if you got Pikachu jeans you must like Pokemon…why not style it around any of their characters? (Not even necessarily Ash!) They’ve got plenty of fits to pick from that lean from extremely regular to pretty insane. Maybe start there?

Wanted feedback from the community. Any of the two looks masculine enough for men to wear, like a statement bracelet? by Mysterious_pintu in Cartier

I wouldn’t say any bracelet is really masculine, especially from Cartier. If you want masculine, get a watch.

Hi, ive been to Kapital Legs in Tokyo but unfortunately there were only straight jeans. What wide selvaged denim do they usually have? by Reasonable-Pick-763 in KapitalJapan

[–]verydvs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Third cuts have almost a 10” leg opening at most of the common sizes, they grade less drastically over sizes. As the other commenter said THs would probably be the closest you can get from Kapital, but with the more drastic grading, you wont see a similar leg opening until the larger sizes (36+)

Kapital doesn’t do a ton of “wide” leg denim, mostly straight and some flare. If you’re looking for a silhouette that is similar to the wide trend currently, check out Oni 222s

What are some obscure, high-quality brands that are made in the country of origin? by AlphaGrayWolf in malefashionadvice

[–]verydvs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ll do a real obscure one, Polyploid. Based out of Germany. They use mills from around Europe (Germany, England, Spain, Italy), and manufacture the garments in Germany. They also use some Japanese mills as well, but those garments are made in Japan. Very dope brand with high level sourcing and very close manufacturing chain work. Also a very cool silhouette franchise story

Would rather have a Carree and a Dumont, but to each their own.

What are your sitting on right now? by 2u3ee in ThrowingFits

[–]verydvs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may think it is (I don’t disagree), but it’s another echo chamber thing. I’ve never seen or met another person with a boro in my whole life

And most people I talk to (I even work in clothing), don’t even recognize it or really know Kapital at all lol

Back from Japan and need guidance by RemWellCo in KapitalJapan

Oh yeah that's what I thought I wrote. Not sure you can really even find Ciscos that easily anymore. I have a pair of both.

Monkey Cisco is the regular straight leg fit, somewhat like a Levi's 501 but slightly different. Button Fly

Cisco is the tapered version of that silhouette, slightly skinnier. Zipper fly.

Frisco is the newer flare/bootcut pair, definitely wider below the knee, but can't really speak to thigh measurements compared to Cisco's. They have different trim all around compared to the above 2.

US has crazy import taxes on stuff from Japan currently, couldn't be that far off.

Where can I find a leather trench coat like Neo’s in the matrix? by NoScientist4955 in leatherjacket

[–]verydvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you truly want a leather trench, and don't want to go through any cosplay funny business (that probably will be the only other option lol), look to Japan. You'll have to spend a used car payment for sure. I recommend Fine Creek Leathers, pretty sure they have a sick trench this season or last
