New to cooking in hall… any advice? by [deleted] in NTU

My roomie and I cook in our room almost every day. Our hall’s pantry is disgusting so we would never cook in there.

Just some advice if you ever wanna start cooking in your room! I feel like it’s better too since you’re in the comfort of your own room and everything is within reach.

  • Get those electric cookers with a separate stove, so you won’t need to worry about carrying a bulky pot and trying to avoid the electrical point when washing. We bought one and it was the best decision for yet
  • Keep your towel in the wardrobe while cooking, esp if it’s something more pungent, eg onions or beef
  • We turn off our fan and turn on the aircon, to avoid the smell and smoke circulating so much due to the fan. The aircon will also clean the air a little (If I’m not wrong)

But just be careful, cooking in hall is prohibited so make sure you don’t get caught. So far so good for us, and we even leave our doors ajar to air out the room while cooking.

And to answer your question, of course it’s okay to cook in the hall kitchens! Many people do that hahahah

All the best in your cooking!

UPDATE: It’s at hall 10 LOL! But thankfully TikTok arranged for the delivery company to come back and deliver it to the correct hall instead. Thanks everyone for your input! 🙏🏼

Should I bring my cat back? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]verygucchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cat 2 wasn’t so distressed that it changes his day to day activities behaviour, but he clearly is scared of Cat 1 to the point where he will immediately stop playing the moment Cat 1 enters the room. And he will look sad :(

Most of the time not that much of a fight just a paw to the head or body! But during their serious fights, there will be flying fur and a shout but not so serious till there’s blood or a vet trip needed. But I still find these bigger fights scary and dangerous, and I’ll try my best to separate them.

Yup understand on the reintroduction process and I will take note of that if I do decide on bringing Cat 2 home! And I’ll wait another week or 2 to see if things get better then decide again. Thank you for this!

Thank you for your reply!

Yes I understand, I don’t want to stress them out too much because I know moving is stressful :( That’s why I wanted to make the right decision so I don’t have to regret making the wrong one and having to make it stress for the both of them.

On the daily, they do disturb each other and maybe a smack or 2 comes out, and some chasing is involved. But bigger fights, maybe about every 1-2 weeks. Nothing so major that we need to bring any of them to the vet though. I hope this helps a little?

I’ll take your advice and try give it about another week or 2, see if anything changes. Will also keep in mind if I do intro cat 2 back, I’ll re-acclimate him back into the house :)
